Not to PP this thread but it will be interesting if Google adds those holidays back in the next time a Dem is president

Every employer that I've worked for since Juneteenth became a federal holiday has given us the day off, but I noticed that a large number of employers don't give their employees that day off even though they get every other holiday off i.e. MLK, President's Day, etc. It's interesting to say the least.

I, too, welcome any day off that my employer and/or the government wants to give me. Goddamn those Europeans taking months-long holidays at a time while we accrue a measly few hours of PTO every paycheck

I think pride month and black history month are bad examples of holidays we need on calendars anyway. considering how many commercials and marketing events there are from companies trying to cash in on them.

other than that, I remember before my phone had a calendar on it, I'd use a pen and mark dates on a paper calendar that were significant to me. I know it doesn't really embrace peak laziness, but I can add special dates to me on my calendar on my phone. if other people find those dates to be significant to them as well, then they'll add them on their phones.

the problem, if it plays out logically on businesses adding every requested holiday to the general calendar when there's enough requests, soon there won't be any special days on there. I'll be inundated with reminders about national chocolate cake day and holocaust remembrance day, or national peanut brittle day. what's the point?

that said, please remember to celebrate world radio day tomorrow.

Happy Radio Day, everyone!
I hope your celebrations are full of joy and gratitude and don't forget to thank your local morning zoo DJs.

Samsung has it's AI turned off by default, but I did notice I had the Gemini app icon in my list of installed programs on the S25. If you long press the Gemini icon there is the option to disable everything related to that at once.

PSA for anyone with a Pixel who was using the 80% charge limit and had it stop working after the recent March update-
Post-update the phone needs to recalibrate the battery before it will limit charging again. Let it charge to 100% and leave it connected until the little shield icon shows up over the battery on the notification bar, it can take an hour for this after reaching 100%. Once you see this the charge limit should be working again.
/PSA

Who else owns a Gen 2 Chromecast here that ended up taking a sh** last week and stop working?

https://www.theverge.com/news/631393/google-chromecast-broken-fix-untrusted-device-error

Google finally pushed the OTA software update a couple days ago, but I was in that hasty subgroup who tried a hard reset on my CC device without researching online first.

Finally downloaded the latest Google Home app update yesterday and boom, back in business.

2025 razr+ specs.

I'll be getting a flip phone this year, I'll wait though to see if Google does a clamshell before I get this though.
