I bought an 02 WRX when they came out and signed up here. I had the Vishnu unichip on it.

Then I bought an 04 STI when it came out, but only kept it 2 years

I went through an Evo, a couple 240's, and have been using a Prius as a daily for 10 years.

I'm finally back to Subarus in the past 2 years and I have owned 2 bugeyes and now an 08 STI. I need to stay off Craigslist....

Currently building a very abused 08 STI into a Rallycross machine. I missed these cars.

I know I'm not a true OG, but I was here long enough to witness the death of "JDM", the rise of "stancenistas" (still waiting for it to die) and the birth of flat billed vape brodawgs - which I can't wait to see go up in smoke - sorry, I can't help it.

I sold my '07 STi, last year, and have a garage queen Type RA, but I genuinely miss when this place was full of people who cared about their builds, did things right and had a greater respect for the community at large.

My bugeye finally gave it's life in an accident after 15 years of service. No Subaru now.

I feel like the OG's have aged and upgraded cars or are in hiding like Jedi after order 66. I forsure am in hiding from the dominant new appreciation of:

replica/knockoff parts, nascar tire stickers, slammed non functional stance, typical hat with vape paired with target basketball shorts (lol), wide body kits with bolts everywhere/poor fitment, blacking out everything, sticker bombing, non functional/excessive aero parts.

When I was younger what people described as "rice", is actually super nice now, there's like a 5% appreciation toward oem+ builds, or just modifying in a clean way/trying to make the car like the "better cars", whether the euro one's or anything "better".

But we all like our own colors in life right so it's all good. I love running into "og" people though, I'm amazed when someone notices my s204 wheels, ra-r pink grill, ect. lol

Do you need a spare set of stock '08 STI wheels for your project? I have some taking up space in my garage

I wish. One of the curiosities of my STI was that it is 5x100 with WRX brakes, suspension, and seats......

It came with the brembo calipers on the side but I sold them. I can run 15's with rally tires with these brakes though so I am keeping it that way

I bought my 03 Bugeye in 04. Still considered an OG?

Aside from the sun damaged roof, dented fenders, and dings here and there, she still runs great with +215K miles under her belt.

She just got a new set of Tein Flex Z's, and still puts a smile on my face every time I go for a drive, which isn't too often now that I'm working from home and with all that COVID/quarantine stuff.

LMK if anyone wants a set of KYB AGX's and Prodrive springs for cheap.

That's forums in general. It's ashame because FB groups are a pain and hard to share or find useful info on.

I bet the core group of OTers is less than 50. I'll define that as folks who post at least weekly.

@Nutbucket,

Don't go bringing the OTers into this discussion. It will go sideways very quickly.

You let them keep their own little playground and everyone will be just happy...

It was pretty dope that the vendors would actually chime in if their products had some issues from customers and get it resolved. I Remember whiteline was always active on this forum and interact with their customers.

Oh and that uncle scotty guy , lol

His cocktail of trans fluid was a joke (1 component was actually corrosive to the brass syncro rings) and people actually bought into his BS that you could fix a mechanical failure with a fluid. He was always abusive and insulting to anyone who challenged his belief in the all mighty "Scotty's Cocktail"

Sorry no tears shed for him here
