This is a clear cut issue. Your left hand is weak. Rectify by performing left hand arm curls. This will even you out.

They fixed her
So I got my 2018 sti limited back today and it was a tire issue. 4 new tires and another alignment and she finally drives straight

Picked up my STi Limited the day before Easter. Noticed it pulling a little bit under acceleration but didn't think much of it. Noticed a few days later the wheel was cocked, but I haven't been driving much. Went for an extended test drive today, and it pulls hard with the wheel aggressively cocked to the right.
If I make the wheel straight, I fly off to the left. Going to be calling the dealer tomorrow and see when I can take it in. 150mi Last edited by Eyesoftheworld; 04-13-2018 at 08:54 PM. |

I had this on my 2016 STi. No matter what I did, it pulled only under acceleration. Got new tires, nothing. Got an alignment, nothing. I gave up in the car.
Traded it in for a 2018 STi. Same ****. Right from the dealer lot it pulled to the left only under acceleration. I had them do an alignment and rotate the tires, which helped but it still pulled. I since sold my factory wheels/tires and I've had my summers and winters on. The car will pull one way with summers ONLY under acceleration. And it will pull the other way ONLY under acceleration. It's the ONLY UNDER ACCELERATION that's the issue. It makes the car impossible to drive. Your always weaving back and forth on the road. It costs and brakes perfectly straight. When you hit the gas, it takes alot of effort to keep the car going straight. Its annoying as hell |

Yeah, like everyone said, check tire pressure or take back to dealer

This happens on my 2016 STI as well and it does not matter what tires I put on. It was straight from the factory.

It's not the tires, wheels, or alignment. My 2016 STi did it and my 2018 STi does it. Have had them both aligned several times and have had LITERALLY 4 different sets of wheels on them and 4 different sets of tires. Both cars pull only under acceleration. Its something else.

Have they been using electric power steering for a few years? Maybe the ABS/Trac system wasn't properly initialized at some point and the eps is compensating for no reason. I work for honda and we get some cars that aren't aligned worth a crap from the factory, but we haven't had defective tire issues like this. Alignment also doesn't change enough to be noticeable when they are so new, so it either seems like tires going bad or some type of eps software or initialization flaw. Maybe they are working on a software update, but they damn sure won't tell anyone until it's time to start sending out notices to the owners, lol.

2014 STI HB.....I’ve had several different wheels and tires on my car and it pulls to the right hard. Dangerously hard. Does less with my winter tires ( I’m sure because the softer rubber absorbs some of it) but still does it. Dealerships nor alignment shop can find anything wrong but both completely acknowledge that it is happening. I’m really at the end of my rope, I love the car but this is just ridiculous and most likely a deal breaker . I’m going to start looking into other vehicles if all the dealers and SOA have to say is “that’s how these cars are” WTF seriously? $40k sports car and it isn’t expected to drive straight.

Just got ANOTHER alignment last week. Car STILL pulls to the right. The wheel doesnt stay center and the car pulls right, the wheel actually turns to the right.

Guys, I could be off base here but has anyone tried calibrating the steering angle sensor? I know '15+ STI got torque vectoring. I only mention cause I had a TT with similar issues.

Had something similar happen to me a few weeks ago. Turns out the right rear caliper wasn't releasing all the way after using the parking brake.
Whenever it would happen I would just give the ebrake handle a tug while driving and it would make a bit of a clunk and release completely. |

Same problem...solution?
Has anyone found a definitive solution for this? I’ve been to the dealer 4 times for an alignment in the first 1,750 miles.

I still haven't taken mine to the dealer. Pulls to the right slightly under heavy acceleration, and steering wheel is cocked to the right. Making the wheel straight results in veering to the left.
It's been in the garage and barely has any miles. But I'll be doing a coating and installing some stuff then setting up an appointment in a few weeks. I'll report back on the outcome. |

Im telling you guys its not the tires (although it could be a contributing factor), and its not the alignment.
Ive had 3 different sets of wheels, and 3 diffeent sets of tires and have had 3 alignments at different places and my 2018 STi is still pulling. Its something else |

I had the same issue with my 18. Pulled to the right under acceleration but coasted straight. I also noticed the same issue on another 18 that I test drove before I bought mine.
Since I live so far away from the dealer I just drove it in the hopes it would go away with some tire wear. It did eventually go away after around 6-800 miles. I ended up with a REALLY bad clunk in the front right, took it to the dealer and they ended up replacing the whole strut assembly. This was at 2500 miles. I also had them look at the alignment because the car is pretty unsettled in turns... when you accelerate the car understeers like crazy to where you have to compensate with the wheel but when you let off the gas the car dramatically oversteers so much so I almost crashed the car the first night I was driving home. None of the alignments I've had done or the strut replacement has fixed this. I've gotten so use to it now that I don't even realize its doing it. But when my brother drives the car he comments about it every time! I think they have something seriously wrong with their all wheel drive system, possibly a sensor or something. My 07 STi definitely didn't have this issue.... |

My car is the same. So much so that I try not to shift in corners. Itll understeer when going around a corner when accelerating and when I let off to shift the car darts (oversteers) the other way. |

You shouldn't be shifting in corners. What you are experiencing is weight transfer and is to be expected if you are shifting mid turn. When you are on the throttle in a turn the weight shifts on to the rear tires, when you let off to shift all of the weight shifts to the front tires which will dramatically increase front end grip and decrease rear end grip which will destabilize the rear of the car.

I just bought a brand new STi RA edition and the alignment was almost all in the red when I pulled it off of the lot. They still can't get it to not pull to the right. SOA is now sending a field engineer down to the shop to see if they can fix it. They're saying it might be an issue with the tires as well

I have new 2019 STI and immediately put on rims and snow tires from tirerack.com.
I quickly realized I had the pulling to the right issue and assumed this was due to the slightly different size tires or a bad factory alignment. I got an alignment at a private shop and the issue was better but still existed. After reading this post I checked the tire pressures. Driver front had 36, Passenger had 30. After moving them both to 34 the problem was fixed. Glad I saw this post, the issue was causing me to hate this car. |
