Default New motorsport-inspired Toyota C-HR GR Sport

Quote:
Toyota has given the Gazoo Racing treatment to its C-HR crossover, ushering in sportier styling, suspension tweaks and “sharper dynamic performance”.

The new C-HR GR Sport model has been developed with input from Toyota’s Le Mans- and WRC-winning performance division, which is playing a significant role in the expansion of the Japanese brand's line-up, having helped to create the GR Supra and GR Yaris. It is now on sale in the UK, priced from £31,395.

The C-HR GR Sport is marked out from the standard car with a black finish for the headlights, foglight housings an central bumper section. The background of the Toyota badge also receives black detailing, as does the front grille.

Further emphasising the GR Sport’s sportier appearance is the addition of a more aggressive front spoiler and black door mouldings, while the rear gains black reflector surrounds and a new under-bumper trim panel.

The C-HR GR Sport rides on a set of new performance-inspired, two-tone 19in alloy wheels and receives suspension revisions that are claimed to "improve body roll and pitch control".

The front and rear springs have been stiffened by 10% and 15% respectively and the shock absorbers have been tuned to increase damping force.

Buyers can choose from eight new paint colours to complement the black detailing, including an exclusive grey-and-black combination. Inside, the C-HR GR Sport adopts a red-and-grey theme, with the steering wheel and shift lever sporting a perforated leather finish with red stitching.

Rear privacy glass, LED headlights and heated front seats are equipped as standard.

The C-HR GR Sport will be available with the same 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrains as the standard car. Prices for the 1.8 version will start from £31,395, rising to £33,015 for cars fitted with the 2.0-litre unit.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Good work Toyota, jack up a car and ruin it's handling capabilities, then slap a band-aid on it via suspension tweaks to improve it's handling capabilities, while keeping them worse than the car it was based on, and charge more for it; oh and slap a special badge on it.

The people will love it though.

I actually kinda like the quirkyness of this little cuv. If they could put an inspiring drivetrain behind it, it'd have my attention. appearance packages don't do it though.

Yes, like a turbo I3, 6mt, mechanical diffs front and rear, driver controlled bias, all while being lower to the ground..... oh wait...

If this was anything like the 6MT Juke (never mid styling) it'd be somewhat motorsports inspired.

I don't mind the ground clearance really. ground clearance has been an issue for me recently, and is the primary reason I'm no longer in my R. But the drivetrain in this just sucks... I also don't know that the yaris gr drivetrain is a good fit, the chr is like 500 lbs heavier than the yaris.

Be careful....We will get the C-HR GR instead of the Corolla GR .... Hyundai is doing it with the Kona N and not giving is the i30N ( at least we get the Veloster N).

Yeah, nah, I was referring to the GR Yaris that already exists, rather than trying to make CUV based off of a compact hatch fun, why not just give us the compact hatch that was fun to begin with?
