Default ej255 in 2004 sti?

I am in the market for a new engine for my 2004 sti i was curious if an ej255 out of a 06+wrx would work? If so would it be plug and play? Engine harness work? Could i bolt a vf39 on it with no problems? Would the intake manifold off the 257 bolt on and work? Would i need to use the sti injectors? Ecu? Tranny bolt up fine? Has anyone tried this?

It will work great. You could even use a 255 out of a 04-05 forester xt.
