Yeah, looked that way to me, too.

But they did nail Tsunoda and Zhou, so maybe the others were OK.

Going to be interesting - Bottas/Alfa in 6th and Magnussen/Haas in 7th.

Interesting qualification results... Alfa Romeo and Haas better than expected. McLaren disappointing. See if HAM's ungodly luck holds out and Mercedes sandbagging more than usual this time.

Yeah, they paid some people a bit north of them to help them make more power...or so I've been told

Fixing to head to the pub to watch the race. F1 culture over here is quite different from the 'green' masses that are starting to watch it in the US. Obviously die-hards are up to speed, just many more of them here.

Hamilton's luck continues. What I wouldn't give to have his luck.

Great job by Haas and Alfa.

Red Bull needs to hire whatever Honda engine gurus that they haven't already hired.

Fun race to watch. The best recent one I remember.

Five Ferrari engines in the top 10.
Two Mercedes.
Two Renault.
One Red Bull (Honda).
Of the engines still running at the end, the bottom six were Mercedes.

Could be an interesting season.

I'm watching FP2 now, looking at the in-car feeds.
Hamilton looks like his helmet is going to come off from the porpoising.
Sainz is having a little bit of it, but nothing like Hamilton.
LeClerc is just serenely motoring along, and is also quickest so far.
Verstappen's car looks good, too.

Just to update you on 1-2 month old info, those are still Honda engines. We had nothing to do with them.

And also public now was fuel pump failures for RBR. Not sure if Gasly's failure is public or not yet.

not exactly failures; the pump created some sort of negative pressure in the tank, and the engines starved.
Other teams had the same, while testing, and sorted this problem out, whereas RedBull had not made long enough long runs to run into this problem while testing...rookie mistake

Saturday - FP3.
On-board with Hamilton - he's not getting pounded around like yesterday. OTOH, he's not quick. I suspect they raised the car to help with the bouncing.
Based on the fact that he's doing more than one push lap, he can't be on really low fuel, either.

Hamilton P16 in Q1 and the race.
Didn't see that coming, especially with Russell at P4 in Q1.

Looks like a good fight for this race and the season seeing how qualifying went. Think HAM would have done better in a HAAS - never thought to think that.

One Mercedes powered car in the top 10.
Is it the engine doesn't like E10 fuel?

I love that there is good competition between teams this year. It makes everything so much better to watch. With the rules changes I had feared that one team would be super dominant.
