Tell me about it. After he tuned my car with the APS intake, I was a believer. Not a lot more peak power, but the car drove in a completely different way.

I got the rebuild done when my mileage was 75,000km. That was on my first clutch. I was told the clutch was still good but "might as well" change it since everything was out.

I changed to another OEM clutch. There's about 26,000km's into the new engine and clutch right now. Everything is great.

brendan_mac, no joe's stuff wan't your stuff, your stuff is in one of the rally cars !

fmic obviously makes more torque (torque is power), but there is a "time to fill" that everyone is confusing with the bottom end torque number.

if you just add an FMIC (keeping the same turbo), you can make more torque, it still feels laggy not because of the low bottom end torque, but the air that it must move before it hits the engine. you need a different turbo to move it faster. People sometimes confuse "different" with "bigger". A bigger one will spool later. then you get your issues. You can get a GT28 or something and have zero lag with a front mount... just no huge top end.

p.s. a lower mainland sti hit 460 ft lbs. the other day... but we turned the boost back down because it was retarded... he didnt want to but I had to.

I ran a complete stage 4 setup tuned by Pat a couple years ago, put down 265 with the vf34. Pat is the man you wont be dissapointed. I just returned from a visit to whistler/rocket, the guys there allways treat me great - its my disneyland according to my girlfriend lol.

That reminds me... Pat, I think I got the neutral switch/miss/poop issue sorted out!! could you email me a copy of my dyno sheet to post up here? Ryan > V7

RR's dyno doesn't give you artificially inflated numbers though.

Indeed. I would really like to know the gain I would acheive with switching from the vf34 ots cobb map to a pro tune map.

See any cobb dyno plots with this (whp) mr modz?

Ryan's run was unusually high for a VF34. Although you'll have a front mount, so...

I think they're usually 250ish with a top mount.
