A fun behind the scenes of that part too:

Twitter

Obviously I'm biased but I thought Rodgers was great as the host, although no one will ever compare to Trebek.

I seriously think he had more rushing yards than passing in the few games he played.

Also, you know who else was great at USC?

Gross...

I think Darnold is way better than Carr... even playing for the Jets under lost in the sauce Gase. I guess my only concernrn is can Matt Rhule and Co get him on track.

I just read a hot take that gives me a sliver of hope for Darnold in Carolina...

Ryan Tannehill and Adam Gase

Tannehill was "meh" in Miami but resurrected his career after joining a better team that had a serious lack of Gase.

I'm in now way saying that the Panthers are anywhere close to the 19/20 Titans but neither were the Titans in 19 under Marriota.

...And both the Panthers and Marriota led Titans are/were head and shoulders above any JEST squad this side of the butt fumble.

I think you'll definitely see an improved Darnold.
You should probably worry about McCaffrey staying healthy more than Darnold

JEST GM Joe Douglas on why he thinks Darnold will succeed in Carolina:

Quote:
Whether I look bad or not, I could give two s***s about that. I know that he’s gonna have success. The timing didn’t really work out for him here. We couldn’t turn this around fast enough for him. And that’s not his fault. I root for good people, and that dude’s a good man, and he’s gonna do good things. I believe that.
I'm sure Zach Wilson and the Johnson family are super excited to hear him say "We were the problem, he's going to fly outside of this **** show"

Julian Edelman was cut by the Patriots yesterday following a failed physical and he has now announced his retirement from the NFL

I think they cut him so he could retire. (At least what I read somewhere.)

Arizona signs James Conner to 1 year deal.

BREAKING in all caps is about how I'll remember his career, unfortunately.

Well... that and being a decent starter that lost his job to Kaepernick and Mahomes in successive order.

Does this mean that the Red Wolves will save any $$ after they released him?

WFC sent a survey to season ticket holders regard new names. The names mentioned are:

Monarchs
Presidents
Wild Hogs
Riders
Washing Capital City Football Club
Redwolves
Aviators
Wayfarers
Ambassadors
Griffins
Warriors
Armada
Rising
Swifts
Commanders
Pilots
Rubies
Renegades
Washington DC Football Club

Most of these are pretty cringe. I’d go with Red Wolves or one of the football club variations. Not sure why you’d name the team of your nation’s capital the “Monarchs” when you gained your independence from telling a monarch to go eff off.

Madden has better team names in Franchise mode.

... and for those of you not familiar with modern Madden games, that is not a compliment

Real question - is Deshaun Watson a blip now? I saw a bunch about him but nothing recently.
Real question. #2. - is the draft over yet?

I used to like Madden when it had a decent franchise mode. Building g up teams, rosters, drafting players, moving to new places. I think the last iteration of madden I liked was from 2008. McNabb might have been on the cover.

Watson is about as far into his career as Big Ben was when he was accused. As long as Watson continues to play well, this will be forgotten by week 7.

There's definitely an overriding naval/aviation theme there. They sound like XFL team names.

Continues to play well? Can't exactly do that if you never see the field again.

He isn't in jail, or even been arrested, yet. Sure, he's eventually going to face the wrath of God-dell but I don't think he's anywhere close to "never seeing the field again"

... it's not like he knelt during the anthem

Well, all I'm saying is, it's way too early to be thinking one way or another with him. This case has owned the headlines for weeks already with the NFL, if he's convicted of stuff or loses all his civil cases I'm not sure even ol' Rog would want to be associated with that.

There's precedent with high profile pro athletes and a one off incident with a woman in the past, but this is a whole other level.
