Default What car/brand of car are Subaru owners most likely to trade their car in for?

I've seen a lot of people asking if they should trade their car in for a BMW/Mazda/Infiniti etc. and I'm just curious as an Impreza is a cheap little econobox, if an owner wanted to trade up or in, what car/brand of car would it most likely be for? Personally or generally.
I know that the answer is going to be slightly different for each person due to needs/likes/dislikes but I have a feeling that we're all still leaning towards one general area of cars since we did all at some point chose to buy a Subaru.

Not to mention this could also be helpful to those that are trying to find a pre-owned Subaru and could focus on the dealerships of the most popular brands they are traded in for.

What say ye?

My next car will be a CTS-V most likely, whether I trade the WRX in or keep it as a daily is another matter.

Lots, if not most people consider trading in a Subaru for another Subaru. Whether it's someone upgrading from a WRX to an STi, someone upgrading from a late model WRX to a newer model, or someone trading in the cop magnet for something that's equally fast but invisible to cops (Legacy GT, outback XT, Forester XT)

Personally, I'd consider any car. The new Hyundai Genesis 2.0t track package with the rear LSD and brembo brakes looks pretty damn appealing to me.

I left Subaru for a VW (nicer interior, better gas mileage, suspect reliability haha). My next daily driver will hopefully be an FT-86. My 4Runner is on order, so I should be able to get something less practical, like the FT, when it is time for a new DD.

I've heard that there was often a pretty even trade-off between Subaru owners and Saab owners.
I guess now with bro madness and Saab being dead, that's not much of a factor anymore.

Unless I end up moving south, I am inclined to stick with Subaru.

Same here, to bad the new LGT has no handbrake. (electric) That is a big pet-peeve about that car. Nor do I like where the turbo was placed.

As for something to trade up to... Newer M3!!!!

But for Indiana, that car is not the best choice.

I hope to someday trade in a subaru for a Audi or BMW depending on where I live - if I'm getting a sedan. Otherwise it'd be another subaru, probably Forester XT.

Love the Genesis Coupe. I considered it, but I am not sure the RWD would do all that well here in Upstate NY.

I don't have a WRX yet, it's on its way up but being held up by this storm. While I was making my decision on what to get I was also looking at a Supra, Porsche, BMW and even a used Maserati. What did it for me was my typical driving throughout the course of a year. I take several trips a year down to NC, I travel north to Vermont and I drive back and forth to work everyday. The WRX Premium just seemed to have the one thing that any of those vehicles was lacking.

Not trading the STI in, but we're buying a 370z for the wife as an anniversary present.
