For what? Rally? Rally-x? Auto-x? Track?

There is no 'best'. It comes down to how *you* drive the car and what works for *you*. There are only suggestions from others in what works for *them*.

With that in mind, these questions have already been answered, even with your mods, because there's not much of a difference in settings between manufacturers, and the settings for camber/toe would generally be the same as what has been discussed earlier no matter what brand equipment you have on the car.

Stiffness settings on the shocks would depend on the surface you're running on, wet? dry? dirt? mud? transition heavy? mostly slaloms?

All this has been covered not only here, but in the suspension forum.

What's best is JDM tires. Why this in motorsports?

Like KC said, best setup for what? There really is no such thing.

The fact that you asked the question the way you did means you need to do some research. There are lots of good motorsports books that will help you understand vehicle dynamics. You don't have to be an expert. You just need to be knowledgeable enough to ask the right questions.

When you can say, "My car is understeering on corner exit. My setup is currently x, y, z. What should I do?", then you're on the right track.

It all starts with understanding what your car is doing, how your driving style affects it and what you want it to do. Participate in autocross. Talk to people. Ride with experienced drivers and have them ride with you. You'll find that there's a lot more to this than just buying parts.

There's a company in Bow NH that'll do the complete setup with you on the track. Their home track is NHIS but they'll travel. Expect to pay many, many thousands of dollars for them to do the work.

For SCCA autocross I think you need to ditch the tires. You can't use tires that aren't readily available to the general public.

Good point. Those tires aren't legal in any SCCA auto-x club. (I missed the JDM part and just thought they were some new yokos under the advans).

Hello,

See post #5 in this thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1023178

That's my post. You can adapt it to autocross by simply going to the auto-x instead of the track, to do your setup. Of course, by the time you get enough runs in, it may be next season, but you'll certainly know more about your car and chassis setup than 99% of the people attending (ie, all but the people who are winning, who probably know such basics already).

If he's got the Tein flex coilovers, he's got about 50-75% of the springrate you suggest.

In auto-x, the springrates you suggest in that post are considered kinda high for the AWD crowd because you're doing more higher frequency transitions and less steady state cornering in auto-x... amplifying your main point about tires being part of the suspension.

You think weight transfer is a bear in road race? Try hurling 3K lbs on a track with 60 more turns at 1/2 the speed for only one lap... and see how your suspension will fare. Really... take it to an autox near you some day. (held in parking lots with more bumps usually than your average road course)

But your main 'jist' still applies... higher springrates aren't necessarily a good thing. But the Tein Flexs (what the poster has) are pretty good for what needs to be accomplished in Auto-x.

Hello,

kC, yeah, I meant the process, not the exact spring rates. Even in that thread, I wasn't saying my rates were right, just a starting point. The main issue is to get out there, make large changes to specific adjustments, feel what they do, and learn what each adjustment you have does for you. Then you can start developing ideas - I want more of "X" so all I need to do is "Y".
