04/05 Painted STi Hood Scoops
---Update---
The GB is now closed. We are going to be painting PSM and Java Black. ETA will be mid April for the scoops to be ready to ship. Thanks, Thaison All, Due to popular demand we are posting a group buy for painted 04/05 genuine STi hood scoops painted to various factory spec colors. We normally get painted WRB and PSM but have several requests for other colors. To get any color painted, we need a minimum order of 5 of each color. We plan on running the jobs at the end of March/first week of April depending on demand. Please post the color you are looking for. Different from other group buys we have run, we WILL be looking for a small deposit. Prior GB had so many fallouts due to the fact we didn't require one. Deposits will be taken via Paypal and are $25. Final price is $210 shipped to the lower 48 states. If we wind up not painting a particular color your deposit will be promptly refunded by April 3rd. We welcome input on other colors. The scoops are painted at a State Farm certified (as well as other insurance companies) paint shop using DuPont primer, paint and clear coat. All applications of the paint are in a paint booth and most importantly are left drying in a controlled, particle filtered environment. That is crucial in making sure the finish is smooth and of exceptional quality. Below are the colors we are planning on painting: Java Black Pearl (MY 04 WRX) 1)ishmehb3n 2)murrdogg24 3)elevenpoint7five 4)swam1369 5) Platinum Silver Metallic (MY 04/05 WRX) 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Thanks, Thaison www.j-spectuning.com [email protected] 407-772-9719

There was a PM about the paint and I noticed I did not put it in the posting. We have actually been selling painted hood scoops on NASIOC since 2003.
Thanks, Thaison |

aveisone - We will start one up for PSM to ensure that item does not stock out. The splitter is not included as you use the one that came with your car.
ishmehb3n - thanks for the bump murrdogg24 - thanks and confirmed receipt of the deposit. Thaison |

elevenpoint7five - The money back guarantee is ligitimate if the group buy does not go through. We have been on NASIOC since 2003 as a vendor and NOBODY has ever lost money on us period. Frankly a $25 deposit is not anywhere close to an amount to exchange for our reputation. And if you let me get on my soapbox for just a minute. There has been folks on NASIOC that has been scammed by vendors. The most powerful tool you have is a chargeback. Yes this works on Paypal as well. A valid dispute can lock up a vendor's account on Paypal. NEVER EVER let a vendor talk you into delaying a shipment until after the dispute period is over. For Paypal, it's 60 days. For credit cards, it will vary from 30 days from the billing date the charge appears to as much as 6 months (I would never wait more than 45 days). The go-no decision date for the GB is March 31st. The reason why I did that is because folks are well within their time period to file a dispute if necessary but again - it will not. Getting off soapbox now.
As for the splitter, we will not be getting STi splitters. You don't need it to install the 04 STi hood scoop. There is a bit of confusion on this matter and it stems back to the 02/03 hood scoops. On the 02/03 MY, if you installed the STi splitters, you had to install the STi hood scoop. The STi splitters rose up high enough that it require a larger hood scoop for clearance. BUT, the reverse was not true. You do not need to install a STi splitter if are installing a STi hood scoop on an 02/03 MY. Again, for the 04/05 WRX, you don't need to install a STi splitter to install a STi hood scoop. If your splitter works fine with the hyperflow TMIC, it will work fine when the STi hood scoop is installed. Thanks, Thaison |

Wow thank you so much for taking the time! Its greatly appreciated! I don't currently have a splitter, when I bought the car there wasn't one on it and just never got around to replacing it. That's why I asked about the sti one as I'm going to buy one sooner or later. Thank you again! I will be putting my deposit down when I get home tonight or tomorrow morning!

I would have jumped in on this if you did this a few months ago. I bought a new scoop and got it painted a couple weeks ago.
