Yeah, I found it after posting that. I had subscribed to his thread a while back but forgot about that.

Just thought I'd share a few pics of the harness Brian at IWire made for me to clean up the engine bay. All sheathed in DR-25 and heat shrink boots and all connectors are labeled. I'm going rotated turbo and rotated intake so Brian mocked it up for me to show how to route it. I'll post detailed pics of the harness later tonight.

Alright, posting here to keep the thread alive. I have a relatively aggressive engine bay tuck and shave job, but about to full send the bastard. Will provide updates.

I've done all custom cables for my PC, wondering if there's sleeving or something similar we can do for all the wires to at least freshen it up a bit? It's frayed, falling apart, and in parts inside wires are showing through.

Any place you have exposed wire element showing through the insulation, or frayed wire ends you should absolutely replace those wires or connectors. You risk a short and a fire if something were to contact a live wire.

As for tucking or cleaning it up, that should come secondary to making it safe. Get on ebay or find a partout and get a replacement for the section of harness you need (or just buy new OEM.)

For sheathing, check out DEI products, they have plenty of wiring products that should be safe for underhood use.

Oops I meant the wrapping material on the harness has worn through showing the wires, but not the wires themselves.

Anything I could use or should stick with actual products for safety?

I used some split loom for it. Heat shrunk ends. Hopefully the photo comes through as well.

Okay, elbow deep in the delete project with a box of Chase Bays stuff.

I deleted AC completely - how are people plugging the AC holes on the firewall? Welding a piece of metal over it is always an option, but I assume there are other methods for plugging.

I just put fire tape over those, I have done mostly practical deleting so never waned to jump down the "fill/weld" rabbit hole. I will some day but for now its safe but ugly.

If I was going all in I would be filling every hole that is unused and filling all the gaps, not sure what your goal is for a end result.

Updates and question

Updates

AC gone
ABS, brake boost, hardlines gone
Power ran behind firewall, up quarterpanel to fuse box in the quarterpanel

Soon

Metal plate over AC plug in firewall
New wiring ducting in driver side quarterpanel

Question

* For ABS module plug by intake, plan is to cut back the wiring harness and simply pull back the ABS module stuff into the passenger quarter, instead of cutting it out. Who else has done this?

I de-pinned and removed all of the wiring from my front harness when I did my ABS delete. Saves a ton of wiring from dangling around.

So after weeks of rerouting wiring and a ridiculous amount of sanding, I put the first base coat down this weekend. I have a ways to go in the paint department, but it feels so good to finally reach that step.

I've had a partially shaved bay before, but finally decided to get more serious with it. ABS, proportional valve, and AC are all gone now.

Months of work only to finish engine bay paint and get the Chase Bays stuff in... feels good to have finally made it this far.

That’s one thing the Honda boys got on us. Imagining a boxer decluttered like that is too good.

Anyone have pictures of fuse box relocations to places other than the fender? (A lot of the older pictures don't load anymore)

Default Shaved, wire tucked, and custom engine bays?

Yessir have a couple. Relocated it to the glove box and ran the engine harness through the 2 grommets behind the turbo, have a couple small things I’d like to clean up to be better but car runs just fine. Only bits needing extensions was headlights, rad fans, horns, and 1 wire under the dash.
