The Sims 2 : Got it, played it.
My 1.4gHz with a gig of RAM and ATI 7500 was crashing during the creation of a Sim....but after downloading a patch from ATI (somehow, SP2 messed up sumthin), it ran just fine.
Anyway, with the 15 minutes of gameplay, I'm impressed. You can create your own unique Sim literally by adjusting nearly every attribute on the face. Your also Sim will get buffed up as you workout. They age. Also, they're smarter. Just coz the table has empty plates doesn't mean they'll stand up eating. They'll sit down and hold the plate and eat. The camera angles are now truly 3D (unlike the quadrant angles from the first version). The female sims look geekishly hot. I can't wait for my Sim to virtually bump uglies. So far, it's just like Sims but better looking. I think you can have six story homes too!

I was planning on picking it up today after work...I'm probably going to spend hours creating my own faces though.

Well EBWorld still hasn't delivered ours nor will it come today because it's STILL not shipped.... so I downloaded it. :P It's an awesome game, but it is honestly overwhelming! Everything about it is so new and takes getting used to... but it's awesome. So far one of the females I've created only wants to "WOOHOO" or "WOOHOO in bed". God what a little nympho!

What, Snoop, this Sims2 thread wasn't to your liking? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=630141
Sarah actually has enough vacation days left that she decided to take today off and play it. I'm pretty impressed with the work they did on the graphics; at 1280x1024 with all the settings on high it looks amazing and gives even my system a workout. On her two year old laptop, the load times (edit: on Sims1) would be ridiculous; Sims2 probably wouldn't even run on it. How are they for you guys with Sims2? I wasted a couple hours playing it yesterday. It's a bit more involved than the original, and it's taken me a while to get used to the gameplay.
As far as performance, there are times where it just rapes my system. I guess a P4 2.0ghz, 512MB, RADEON 9800 Pro aren't enough to run too much detail |
