I need help getting a WLAN PCMCIA card to work...
So my school-issued laptop is in for repairs and they gave me a loaner compaq nw8000. The problem is, said loaner does not have a wireless card built in, and the PCMCIA wireless card that I am trying to use doesn't work. XP can't find the necesary drivers for the "Ethernet Controller" and I can't help it any because I have no clue what kind of card it is.
The only things written on the card are: IEEE802.11b WLAN CardBus Card 2.4GHz/11Mbps FCC ID: O6M-WE302R then it gives me the MAC and S/N. I know for a fact that the card I'm using is operational, so that's not a problem. The reason why I'm trying to get this to work is because the school is pretty much wireless, with only a few places where I can actually plug in. Thanks in advance

Does whoever gave you the loaner know anything about the card?

Ah.. I'm just going to give up on it. I know nothing of who made it, but it did work just fine w/o any outside drivers in much older laptops...

And I have no clue what the mac can tell me :-D 000136106B33 - MAC Edit: Ok, by "I tried the drivers" I meant that I unzipped into a folder, and pointed the Wizard to that folder. |

if you've got a hardware identifier like everest or belarc you should be able to use that to figure out what driver you need.

Hm... I wish I knew which model mine was. That would be cool. Also, it smells... acrid. The card, I mean.

I have the same card, and the CD for it, and an iso image of the CD... It's a little over 14 megs, not sure how to get it to you.
I could just send the .inf and .sys files, which total about 183 KB, but I'm not sure what to tell you to do with them. The CD installs them to Program Files\Wireless\WE302R. |
