Hey, it's a deserved smack in the face, and we know it. It all stems from our $16,000 STI Group Buy gone bad. However, thats all done, and we're just rocking and rolling again. It wasnt our fault, so there's not much we could do. Anyway, it's over and this is a COMPLETELY different company. : :

Slap in face taken, action taken, things changed!

Rock on!

I am still waiting for the "STi group Buy" stuff so it IS NOT all over.

Edit: per request from Chris and Faraz. They are giving me the stuff from the GB for Free for the inconveniance. Whenever I get it.

Just because it's fee doesn't make the wait easier. I didn't ask for them to be free. I am willing to pay for all parts I order. If you decide to give them to me free for the inconviniance that does not mean you can walk on me though, or not reply to my emails and phone call messages for weeks.

Chris give me a call.

I like "it wasn't our fault"

um... lessee. 1) you took the customer's money and 2) (presumably) you haven't refunded it or provided the goods.

whose fault is that?

Angry free?! ya right

Wow, the new TRi still offers free parts for un-satisfied customers? Does the new TRi have intakes yet? It's only been a couple years since I was promised mine.

It actually stems from a small emblem order and the way the whole deal was handled. Let me just put it this way......NEVER AGAIN!

I've only been in the I-club scene recently, so I guess I missed whatever happened before that went sour. I do have to say though, in the short time that I've had my Scooby TRi has been really supportive of the local group and it's events/meets/etc. While that's not all there is to being a good tuner, it's certainly a good sign in my opinion. With that in mind I wonder if the people that feel they have a problem with TRi have actually attempted to deal with them recently to resolve it, or are you just complaining on the board?

Well, I feel that if TRi had the decency of admitting their fault...at least give them credit for that...unlike JC Sports, which I'm not going to get into

And those who have not experienced anything with TRi, I would suggest to refrain from saying anything. Just because you heard from someone else that he said she said crap, doesn't give you concrete priviledge to say anything.

I know vendors make mistakes, as me experiencing them, but at least give them credit for admitting it, unlike other vendors!

So, if they're trying to change and move on, give them a chance and take your personal issues with them off the board (email).
Or you've never made a mistake before, therefore it's ok to NEVER give anyone a second chance.

Now when things go really bad, that numerous group buys go sour, as with some vendors here, THEN....that's a different story.

I have nothing bad to say about TRi...they were struggling before but now have a good head on their shoulders....so, CUT THEM SOME SLACK!!! ~ As you would do with someone else.

David:

You didn't ask for your parts to be free, but see, they're going out of their way to make you happy and keep your service. I know you're upset but doesn't that count for anything???

I've been in your shoes (but not with TRi), so I know how it feels...

I was in that ill-fated STi GB. And while I only ordered a badge, and it took me awhile to get it, Chris kept me updated after I e-mailed him asking where the heck it was . I got my badge, Chris apologized (I didn't ask for an apology), and now I'm happy. I've gotten stuff from TRi a few times, and I've never had any sort of trouble. In fact, even with the STi GB, I'm still very happy with TRi and the service that I get. It wasn't their fault that customs held up the order, but they have taken responsibility for not being as communicative as they could have been. They stood up and took the blame for what was their fault. Not the customs crap, which wasn't. TRi has bent over backwards for quite a few people, and they continue to do so.

Damn straight.

I have had no problems... zero... with TRi or the products they have offered. Can't say the same for some of the other vendors I've dealt with.

True, they screwed up badly with their choice of a distributor for some of their parts...but almost all of our vendors have screwed up badly at one point or another. Rallispec had that terrible Whiteline groupbuy. Cobb has released brake pads which don't fit correctly and cams which set off lights they aren't supposed to. Heck, I'm having problems with contacting Lisa Wilkins at Troncalli...she sold me a set of springs which fit the wrong car and now I have to deal with returning them.

Retail's a tough business, and it's even tougher when the market is small. No one is going to be competent all of the time, but as long as they're trying and they're communicating-which TRi has always done in my experiences-I can't complain.

I can't say that all of my dealings with TRi have been yippie skippy either. i put in an order for wheels, springs, short shifter and 18mm swaybar back in march. wheels and springs delivered within 2 weeks, short shifter delivered last week (3 months late), swaybar...your guess is as good as mine...still waiting. and mind you, all items were in stock when i ordered them and "shipping" has been to blame. but for some reason, TRi will never send me the tracking numbers, even after repeated emails and voice messages. oh wait, they did give me one tracking number for the wheels, but that wasn't a shipment to me, it was the shipment from the distributer to TRi. I think TRi needs a little bit more organizational help. overall, i'll probably order from them again because chris did send the shifter saturday delivery, but i'm just annoyed at the lack of promised communication (tracking #'s) and the timely service. 2/3 of fast, cheap, good...you pick.

USOM2000, you hit it right on the head. I have had great dealings with TRi in the past but as of latey (8 months) they too have problems getting the tracking numbers to me after the say they have shipped.

And when i finally get the tracking number this is what I get. This sent on the 11th per TRi. I have others that have never activated after months.

Ben, your right, and we knew/know it. That was the intention of the third post in this thread. We explained that we had problems, and we've fixed them.

As for your order, you know I gave you tracking numbers and it said your products were delivered and signed for, something we both knew about. I cant just pick these products off a tree and send them. You've been patient, and for that I am thankful. If someone signed for something, but you say there is nothing there, obviously there is a problem that I nor you can control.

Dave, call FedEx if you want to get somewhere on it, I cannot do anything from here for you.

Again, thank you to those who have seen and dealt with the new TRi. I think we've been doing a good job, and hope to continue to do a good job and serve the Subaru community as the best parts dealer and tuner in the country. Thats our goal, plain and simple.

Hmm... I haven't had any problems with TRi. Actually, I have. I ordered a set of ADR RS2000s with chrome rivets from them. But I really wanted the RS2000s with black rivets. I never did get the wheels with the chrome rivets. Instead, Chris hooked me up with the black ones!

Whoo hoo! Thanks Chris!

TRi has been very good to me. Yes, sometimes their orders are held up, but it's not TRi's fault. It's the suppliers. For instance, my wheels. ADR took forever in sending them the wheels. Forever! I kept up with my wheel order, and I tracked the packages with TRi. ADR wasn't shipping them. Whether it was because the items were out of stock or whatever else. TRi places the orders, and their suppliers take their time. You can't let a bad supplier tarnish TRi's name. For all the sceptics, take a trip over to the shop. You'll see TRi hard at work taking care of our needs.

The reason there is no scan on that FedEX package is cause FEDEX didn't scan it! UPS has the same problems sometimes.

I've had nothing but good relations with TRi. Their prices are low and they are within drifting distance Chris trys hard for what he's got. Just think, he's got to put up with Faraz (just kiding )

Chris, my sympathy goes out to you.

Thumbs up

TRi are a bunch of great guys. i havent had any problems w/ them(except Faraz ). their service is great(even comical!) and for the most part their prices are very good. even if i feel i am not given the "best deal" i will still pay just to support these guys. they are good guys and i wish them much success. everyone makes mistakes but not everyone can admit to them. they did and for that they should be commended. so what that their mascot is a chalupa!?

faraz- do i get a finders fee for bringing 2 new customers this past saturday???
