Looking for new shop/inspection location (Boston Metrowest)
Guy moved on from my previous place after like 10years going there, not as friendly there any more. Looking for a good shop for inspection that aren't brutes and going to jack my car up on the rocker panels like some meathead. Also hoping to find a place with a little leniency. Please PM me any recommendations.

Crickets... alrighty. Just looking for a shop I can trust. Went to the previous shop I did ONE MORE TIME and this time my worst nightmare happened and they jacked it up by the floor panel! Anyhow, the XT is up for inspection now too and damned if I go back there.

I don't mind this being wide open. The Mobil station in the center of Westborough has been my go to for decades. Yes, they will jack up the car to check ball joints, but will do so on proper jacking points. Remember that these guys are all on RMV cameras, so nobody's going to let an ultra rice ball go through. But I don't think they go all CAL nazi crazy, looking for cats and all. The OBD needs to pass muster, which allows one not ready monitor.
The good thing with these guys is that they are actual mechanics, so they're not going to jack the car up using the closest fiberglas body piece. If lenient means seeing obvious failures that can be caught on the DMV camera, then I would suggest simply fixing it and making it pass. I am always amazed that people put in 30 hours of work and make their car twice as loud to gain 3/4 of a horsepower at 8000 rpm yet simply drive on the street and don't know turn 3 at NHMS from the esses at lime Rock because they've never been to either. |

Thanks Jack... yeah, originally I was looking for a shop that can look past a little extra noise but really need a shop that isn't going to break my cars. Looks like that Mobile is only about 35min from me so maybe worth checking out.

When I was at the Suzuki dealer in Everett, the Sales Manager mentioned he was a “Racer.” Replied, “Gee, never seen you at any track days or other events. Where do you race?” “The Blue Hills.” |
