I run 19psi on ej25d hla heads. I have 97 cams in them, they have the offset exhaust lobes. My power curve is pointed towards the moon when i hitvthe rev limiter. I would think the heads are good for 7k. I think the ej25d cams may even be identical to ej20k cams. But dont quote me

I remember reading the same thing about the ej25d heads being identical to the ej20k heads; can't claim it to be fact as this is a vague memory from when I was researching a hybrid build. But there is a difference in stock redline between the 2 if my memory serves me right. Isn't the 20k stock redline 8k?

Or is it 7500? Been a while since I researched all this.

There were 2 ej20k's, one shim over bucket and one shim under bucket. STI was the shim under bucket and wrx was the shim over bucket I believe. From what I remember, the wrx ej20k was just an updated ej20g. The wrx ej20k had a 7500rpm redline and STI ej20k was 8000rpm. Ej25d cams are very similar to ej20g cams and I believe the head casting is closer to the wrx ej20k.

Here's a log from this mornign with my stock ej25d heads and stock 95 ej22e block. I switched to boost-thru MAf the other day and have been loving it. I used to get a lot of boost taper because of my IAC. Now I'm peaking at 20.2 psi and only taper to low 19's. This 4th into 5th gear and my rev limiter is 6250 so I try and shift before 6, but you can see its showing no sign of letting up on flow up top. My work PC doesnt play well with the window so from the top
Green = Throttle % Dark Blue = Duty Cyle % Light Blue = MAFv Red = RPM Yellow = timing Pink = AFR |

I am sorry my english skills are bad.
In short, is it possible to use pistons and connecting rods of the ej255 or ej257 engines on the ej25D? Do you need any adaptation? Which joint to use? My Ej25D is from the second phase and I would like to leave it with 300hp. |

In 99, Some Legacies here had a Ej25D with a phase 2 block and Phase 1 heads. That motor you can possible put ej255 rods in, all previous EJ25D motors had smaller crank rod journals and a #3 thrust bearing. While it's possible to throw a Phase 2 crank into a phase 1 motor, it's not ideal |

'99 EJ25D heads, 97(?) EJ22E stock block, ~17 PSI from a TD04... She effin' loved it. I was limited to 6200, so it kept pulling hard till redline. I've read the cams die off hard after 6500, and that's where the 20g/20k cams come in. I was never able to find any...
