Default Dyno Day Results, post em if ya got em.

Well, I'd like to be the first to call today a success. We stayed on schedule, picked up some WHP, discovered problems with our cars, got to see a Carrera on the dyno, but most importantly got to verbally bash our token V8 RWD pal all day long. Hell, he deserved after spanking us all on the dyno, but you are going down in the snow my friend!!

I may go back for another tune after replacing my gaskets (we think the TMIC is leaking) and putting in some colder plugs.

Before WHP 216.6 Trq 226.2
After WHP 238.0 Trq 254.7

Gain ....WHP 22 Trq 28.5

Not bad huh?

It was the STi key!!

Steve..

Well today was indeed a fun day, even though my numbers didnt impress me at all since my hp and tq#'s went down 10 since february and my car is running pig rich. Hmmmm, when shiv tuned it, the car was perfect and i havent touched it since. Maybe its time to invest in a laptop and tune the damn thing myself.

Thumbs up

It was great meeting a few more guys and putting faces to names...sorry I missed the dyno run on the Porsche but I had to get back to my girls in time - it was mommy's night out.

With just a Perrin uppipe, HKS downpipe and Samco hoses as go-fast mods....this is what I got

WHP 195.5
Torque 203.1

Now it's time to pick the right catback and engine management system....

BTW, anyone want to host pics (large files), let me know...

Default Good Times

Well gentleman this was my first meeting with fellow members of this forum and I must say that i had alot of fun today. The guys @ BM seemed like they knew there stuff, but im not positive... you guys were great and so were the cars. Well Heres how the Porsche did.

216 whp
198 ft/lb's

Im upset that the guy who had the huge garret needed "smaller" injectors and that brians spark plugs were F'd, i think we could have seen some HUGE numbers. Its been my pleasure guys. Take it easy

Cool, glad you hear you guys had fun. The last time I was there, I put down 200 at the wheels and 230 on the next run after some AFC adjustments. Amazing how much power those little things can make.

322.8 rwhp, 340.0 Rwlbft... oh, what Mr hanky was talking about "Mr Tourque" he was just jealous that my car had 305 plus lbft from 2k rpm on. Now i know i need to launch below 2k rpm.

How much more hp (guesstimate) will I get with the catback (Prodrive/Stromung) and engine management (UTEC/AccessECU?)?

I want an idea of the cost per hp. Then maybe that will be it for awhile

Before-(Last BM dyno day):
213WHP - 212TQ

After-(Todays dyno, with additional mods of: Perrin upipe, Unichip Stg.2, different muffler)

223WHP 221.3TQ

The guy at BM tranny was very nice, I wish I brough more money so I could have given him a better tip next time I guess..

The gains I had were not just at peak horsepower and torque, I am making more power throught the rev range with the exception of 6,000+ rpms where it is almost the same as the old dyno. They had it stored on the computer so they could print out one layed over the other kick ass!

Mods:
Perrin upipe
Stromung catless 2.5inch exhuast to budget highflow muffler
GFB pullies
STI eng./tranny mounts
STI hoodscoop
STI organic kevlar clutch w/type RA pressure plate
JUN flywheel
Samco IC hoses
K&N panel jammy
TurboXS Unichip Stg.2 map
STI key

Check out what mr hanky is throwing down man... you could probably put down just a little less (he has a bigger intercooler..) how sweet would that be

And Chris... I will be safely in my house in the snow thank you very much lol.. You'll spin your tires too... I did with my WRX all last winter

I think I will go back for another session after replacing the TMIC gaskets and throwing in some colder plugs. Junior said with the colder plugs he could squeeze a few more ponies out. Be nice to hit the 250 mark. Pretty cheap upgrade too.

VF30.....Hmmmmmm.

Steve...

BTW, as Paul pointed out, it is not just the numbers. My car is so much faster and smoother now. Especially since we discovered that my ABC was leaking. 1st and 2nd are scary now, the boost comes on fast and stays rock solid throughout. And as Eric pointed out, at certain points in the power band there are signifigant gains, 40HP at some points. and that makes a huge difference.

I was pleased with my results, but my car definitely has more to offer. I had to reset my ECU yesterday morning and I was only hitting 16psi. I will be heading back there for some tuning once I get my UTEC and an upgraded IC.

My results:
259.7 HP
237.1 trq

BTW, I will hopefully have the video(s) of everyone's cars on the dyno in a few days. I will post them in a separate thread in the Tri-State forums

FLASH!!

I just got off the phone with Junior at B&M. He said there was a miscalculation with your dyno pull. Apparently he had it set up for a AWD car, an innocent mistake. He said your numbers are accurate, WE JUST HAVE TO DIVIDE THEM BY 2.

161.4 rwhp
170.0 Rwlbft

What did you change on your car since the last dyno day to get that kind of an increase?

VF30 turbo
STI injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Bosal 3" catback exhaust
TurboXS Stage 4 Unichip (no more SAFC)
Custom Short Ram intake

I really should've put on my Hallman MBC since the TurboXS ABC was having all kinds of problems making boost. Almost fully open and it was only making 16psi

Anthony;

When I talked to Nathan at TXS he told me the ABC should only be opened a MAX of three turns. When I was at stage2 I was getting crazy boost spikes and Nathan said this was one reason. The ABC should only be used to fine tune, I had this discussion with Junior yesterday.
Drop TXS a line and see what they say.

I definitely had a great time. Was nice to meet a bunch of new faces, and to see a bunch of sweet cars.

I still am feeling the HP envy, but I left feeling very happy about what I pulled, blew my expectations away.

Final result:

124.9 HP
147.6 Tq.

Only mods are S-AFC and header-back exhaust, 2.5" all the way.

That's up almost 2 HP and 3ft/lb Tq from when I began, which honestly isn't all that bad considering the only thing they did was set the S-AFC correctly. It's funny, but I can smell the difference...

However, I did notice a much smoother ride on the way home, and it may just be my butt-o-meter, but I felt great driving home, and I felt the car was pulling better all the way throughout the gears, which was pleasing.

Damn I want a turbo...

Good results Gary, nice torque.

Hey did anyone notice that they tested Eric's car in 4th gear?? I recorded the computer screen that showed rpms and ramp/tire speed and it got up to 130mph! How come they use 4th instead of 3rd on your car?

4th on the LS1 cars with the T-56 tranny is the 1:1 ratio
