More details?

You only get it at certain speeds? Turning in only 1 direction? Both?

Clunk coming from one side, or both?

Are the strut top bolts torqued to spec?

Are you running any rubber spring/coil isolators?

I don't have these personally, but there's lots of things that can cause a "clunk", you need to provide more info before the gurus here can try to diagnose this particular noise.

it happens driving down the road making turns to either right or left at normal speeds. the springs came with rubber isolators on some of the coils, but not all. sounds like the spring is slipping, then pops

double check all the strut top bolts and make sure the springs are properly seated, both top and bottom. both items were slightly off for me and I had the same clunking sounds...although mine was especially loud when turning through a dip (driveway, etc.)

will do. i'm thinking of putting rubber tubing around the bottom coils, b/c i think it might help with the clunking.
