Question: what will become of all of the STI prerelease inquiry type threads if all of the threads "are not going to be deleted or just archived- they will be moved to the appropriate forums for the topic, and active discussions will still be able to be continued."? Seems to me that a lot of info here has no other rightful place but this forum.

Like when the WRX Information forum was merged back into the general population in 2002, this is not subject to discussion- it is going to happen. Regardless of posts like "I don't want to wade through non-STi posts to find what I need"- it's still just an Impreza at heart, and the forum is going to go . No matter how strong the backlash is or how strong your opinions against it being done are, it will be happening- all this information belongs in other places.

It's not the same as with WRX. The fact there is a "Factory Forced Induction" forum means all specific WRX posts were going there. Now with STi we will have a big mess and a lot of trouble to find what we need. I think the reason is to make other forums more alive. I looked at some others and they were not even close to activity here. IMO it's a bad idea to close it down.

I don't car what the title or description is, but there needs to be a forum set aside for just the STi.

This forum is retarded.... It was opened as a forum for info on the STi before it came out. It has served its purpose.

Just because you have an STi does not mean you are special. post your questions because all of the other forums cover any questions you might have.

But honestly, if it closes, where will all of us OT people go to make fun of all of the n00bs

Why? If you are going to say that, then at least back it up with reasons.

Please keep this open. It has been a great way to heard the n00b's. Keeping them all in one place is a great way to make our day's more productive.

n00b herding is a tough job and I leave it to the capable hands of the STi forum mods.

This was just my obseration when I was look at other places for some info. It could be just a bad timing but I'd be glad to see stats comparision. I think it might make some people to go to other places for STi info where they will have no need to dig.

And the WRX isn't the same as the Turbo Legacy, or the Forester XT, or the Baja Turbo, but they are all factory forced induction. There are a lot of things that the STi owners can learn from a lot of the lowly WRX owners...

FFI alone is more active than this forum. tranny, electrical, suspension, rims and tires.. They've got plenty of activity. Everyone could benefit from a non segregated community.

This forum is no longer needed and will be archived.

It's intended use was for pre-release information and rumors.

Seeing as many of you have already taken delivery of thier STi's.. I do not believe we are still "pre-release"

All STi posts will be part of this forum after this one is closed.

Why do you feel that you're car is any different of an IMPREZA than the WRX/RS/OBS/TS?

We don't have specific forums for each of those car models.. they are broken down to chassis type.. and I do believe the STi chassis falls right in there..

Just know this much.. And I assure you this is coming from a reputable source.

the forum will be closed as is stated in the sticky thread.

All further discussion is purely academic, but you are more than welcome to it.

Once again, it's because it was started as a forum for STi information available BEFORE the STi became available.

The STi is an Impreza just as the WRX is. So therefore, every thread about it can be planed in one of the technical forums.

Come on guys. it's really not that hard.

Anyone see Fight Club? it has a great line:

You are not your job. You are not the money in your bank account. You are not the car you drive. You are not how much money is in your wallet. You are not your ****ing khakis. You are the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

I better quit when I am ahead or I'm sure I will get in trouble soon
