Question SoCal Sti owners, you bought without test driving?

Every San Diego dealer told me no test drives and Irvine just told me no too. To big of a leap for me to buy without test driving

I for one didn't test drive mine before purchasing, and I have no complaints as of yet (well with the exception of a ton of brake dust). Trust me you WON'T be disappointed

I didn't test drive one. I owned a MY02 RS and been in WRXs. I know how Subarus handle and I figured it couldn't be any worse than what I had (which was REALLY good). I loved driving my RS. I was actually amazed though at how much better the STi handled. It's an amazing car!

Default Test Drive

In August Subaru of Thousand Oaks let me take a test drive prior to even talking about price - ended up being MSRP. It might have been the fact that I drove down from the Central Coast twice but compared to the other dealers they seemed to be a class act.

I just took a ride, then I went off and bought one. What are you waiting for? Do you feel the peer pressure?

Driving the STI is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. You can negotiate price below MSRP out of state or pay MSRP in state. If you register in Oregon and leave it there for 90 days, you do not even need to pay sales/use tax.

Good luck!

Default Test Drive

I took mine for a test drive and was ready to walk because of the markup. Somehow that get's the dealers' attention. How much did you guys pay for your STi's?

I bought mine from El Cajon and didn't get a chance to drive it until I'd signed the paperwork. No complaints though, best car I've ever owned.

Default Nope!

Didn't test drive, but I had owned a WRX for over a year before I bought the STi!
The STi has not disappointed me. To say the least.

thanks for the responses, sounds like most of you did not test drive before buying.

I am in no rush so I think I am going to wait. I test drove the Evo and didnt think it would make a good daily driver. Hoping the STi will but do not know without a test drive
thanks again

Own a WRX for 2 yrs, test drove an EVO but not the STi. Paid MSRP at Irvine and I was on the list.

Default Im is Savannah GA

I did not test drive my STI prior to taking it over either. I test drove an EVO which I was not to happy with. I payed MSRP. It had 6 miles on it. First drive was heading to the gas station. They tried to put 87 in it. As you know that did not go over. Try 93.

I am very satisfied with my STI. It is so nice.
Wish it had a moon roof.

Most people who have bought their cars already, have done tons of research and have been waiting until they get that call. So I would say the majority of current sti owners haven't test driven one and don't regret it since the STi lives up to the hype

Depending of what type of car you are used to, test drive the STi before buying, it doesn't fit everybody's need.
