Default SAW AND STi?

i was driving on the freeway when from a distance, i saw a sexy car on the other side of the median, stuck in traffic. It looked exactly like an Sti with the body kit and the extra big hood scoop. i first had doubts of it being a subaru but when i saw the back of the car, i knew it was a subaru. this was when i started to go into trauma. it was the first time i saw this beauty and she is beautiful. is she really a 2004 or is she only a 2003, with headlight conversion kit?

Only you saw it. I don't think we can help.
Go to http://impreza.subaru.com and look at the pics there. Does it look the same?

I remmember seeing an Sti(US version) on ebay... it was one of those pay-10-15-grand-in-addition-to-the-sticker-to-have-a-brand-new-sexy-thing-that-no-one-has-yet deal

I guess that was the one you saw, perhaps there are others out there as well.

Better chance it was an 04 WRX than an STI

well, there are places that you can buy the front conversion for the 2004 STi models. this includes the whole front bumper, hoodscoop, lights (HID is optional), and foglight covers. and also, for the back which includes the tail lights, bumper and wing. however, this costs way too much and not quite sure if it's worth it. if you have some money lying around or are very willing to purchase one of these, power to ya. i think it goes for around 4500.00 for the front and 2K or 3K for the rear. crazy huh! check rallyperformance or rallispec for conversions.

i know how the sti looks like, it was the first time i saw it in real life. the funny thing is, the dealership here in hawaii said the STi wasnt coming till june and the Wrx till september. this forum said the realease was in april. maybe the dealership was lying to me because they were trying to get rid of the 2003s. they were marking the 2002s down to 19grand. but im not a fan of the round headlights

Well, count yourself special than, because the only STi spotted in the US so far (besides the car show) was in Alaska for some cold weather testing.

No one has there's yet. Maybe the '04 new body style regular WRXs are out, like jaypride said, but the STi aren't out as far as anyone knows.

Those "deals" are to be put on a waiting list. No one is selling an STi they possess.

was the new-design or the same round light design (2002-2003). well anyway, there are no STi's in any design in the U.S. yet. that was probably a conversion with all the badges. it's not an STi though.

We usually get the cars before you do (sold the first WRX on US soil here) and now the 04's are on the showroom floor.

The STi's are due for the end of May.

There are a number of them. Besides the blue show cars, there is at least one white test STi in Michigan. That car has been in Alaska, Colorado and probably down in AZ too.
