Default 03 Baja STI swap

I recently purchased an 03 Baja with 181k on it. While I don't have too much time to work on it, I'm in the process of planning an EJ257 STI swap for it. I've poked around quite a bit online here at NASIOC and other sites, and it doesn't look like this has ever been done. As I start acquiring parts, I'll make sure to document everything... I'm sure there's someone out there who would be interested in doing the same or similar...

why may I ask? seems like for the money to buy a na baja + an sti motor / ecu and a turbo transmission you could just get a bajaT and get with a vf39 yada yada and get it tuned for the same price.

it's been done. just google baja sti. a local shop here did one and there's also a local guy with a full cosworth baja sti. your best bet is to find a wrecked sti that's totalled in running condition and do the full swap and just get the dash harness merged if you want to keep the interior stock, or do the full interior swap too (although I'm not quite sure how well the dash swaps out.

I hope you have some liquidity to make the swap. Not only in parts but alot of labor. make up a new thread and keep us updated with your progress. we all enjoy seeing another baja uplift
