If you ever do hard lines again and want a bend with a shorter leg coming off the fuel rail let me know. I've got a little trick that helps keep it shorter.

Thanks. I put a lot of work into this thread.
My empire of dirt.

New hobbies, new house, new job, new kid... All slowed me down a bit. Life changes and it's bittersweet. I have an itch to build something mechanical again or maybe try something new on this car. Flex fuel, bigger turbo on the wagon or electric shifter kart...?

I'm curious. Those long legs were frustrating.

Won't ever be the same. Forums (not just NASIOC) are much slower due to the FB groups. Definitely a shame

Ken, I vote for something related to this Subaru so we can read about it here.

Agreed and equally disappointed Apparently 10" wheels, tire paint, and wraps just can't provide any interesting content outside of IG photos.

I'll try my best to explain, but it may be hard to understand without pictures:

1. Install tube nut & sleeve
2. Flare end of tubing
3. Place 1/4" extension into tubing and place tubing into bender. Place tube nut sleeve as close to start of bend radius as possible. The 1/4 extension is the part that hits on the arm of the tubing bender which allows you to get the bend 1/4-3/8" shorter.

Here's a picture showing the length of leg with this method:

Also, kudos on the rotated turbo. I've often thought of doing this exact as thing, but the last car I was going to do it on couldn't be done because the compressor housing was too large and hit on the cylinder head when rotated (HTZ green).

Default JDM vs USDM cam pulleys

I am getting ready to do this 32 bit conversion on an EJ207 ver 9. I will be getting EJ257 intake cams and USDM cam position sensors.

For the timing do you need to replace with USDM cam pulleys? What about the crankshaft pulley and sensor? I have seen from threads and videos that say to swap they components to.

Dug through most of this thread and could not find an answer, but does anyone know how Ken's one piece drive shaft worked out on this project? I know he got it installed, but how did it work out?

Anyone seen or heard from Ken in the last year or so?

I have a 2006 Forester n/a that I wanted to do a similar build with … BUT I hear it’s a major pain if you don’t start with the XT. 215,000 miles but she is still running decent! Needs new everything - but curious if it would be worth it?
