Hey guys do you think i will have any prob with a 89 240sx with sr20det passing safety and im. Or does anyone happen to know anyone who does such service for kind favors (six pack etc.)

sniffer car, if it passes it passes. if it doesnt than your pretty much sol. i know a guy that wont pass your car for a sixer persay but he will do his darndest to try to get it to pass without cats

you will have problems getting it passed because the sr20det doesn't have an EGR system like your car is supposed to have. it may pass sniffer, but the visual will make it fail.

i speak from experience with my silvia.

i passed the visual but did fail. it was running to rich. does summit county not care about emissions? your right, no egr

Since you already failed you will need to pay again to get it tested at another place and they may not let you cause when someone fails you it goes into a database.

You can either cut down the fuel or put some HEET in the tank.

what part failed. if it was you hydrocarbons than turn up the idle to about 1100. the idle limit is 1200 so it needs to be righ on. change your plugs and get a new o2 sensor.

I was w/ him when he failed, it failed for CO at both idle and high idle and also failed NOX at high idle.

change your plugs and gap them as wide as they will go and still fire. and once again change your o2 sensor. if you need a cat i have one you can buy.

heet is a additive that makes it so your fuel lines do not freeze. Available at autozone in a yellow bottle.

It is basically rubbing alcohol. You want your tank pretty close to empty add this stuff in drive around for a little bit make sure it is in there. Then go in and get the test done. Then right after fill up with some high octane gas. The heet stuff is not the best stuff for your car. But it has helpped many a cars pass emissions.
