Hopefully get my wagon going and then go on some canyon cruises. Would be nice to have a group go on some drives and a bite to eat.

I'm down to do meets and what not this spring. I've been busy with both cars this winter and am not ready for anything quite yet. Plus, cold. Is there a schedule somewhere?

I don't know. There might be one on Facebook but I don't do FB.
-------- "S209, 341hp. Only 200 will be made in WRB with grey rims or CWP with gold rims. Same EJ25 with bigger HKS turbo, stabilizer bars, brakes and intercooler. The rest is pretty much Type-RA" |

Bet that costs a pretty penny. I have to get my power steering done. I think the pump is toast. Gonna get a second opinion. Plans are to get that replaced, then do turbo and tune at Simple. I tried calling them to schedule it but I think they're in the middle of moving shops, I haven't gotten an answer yet. After that I'll be ready to go and do whatever. I also don't use FB, so I'm sure I miss a bunch of events. I may have to make one though to be able to keep up on drift/cruise events and snag parts.

I might have a fun car again by spring / summer. We will see.
And good lord, that S209 is ugly. Subaru needs some help in the styling department. Do subaru's have apple car play yet? |

Unfortunately yes, It's a big hub to get parts. Intermountain Subaru Flea Market can yield some pretty decent finds. I got my Perrin Catted Divorced wastegate down pipe for 200 bucks. The big downside is having to actually interact with some of the crowd who aren't always the most knowledgeable bunch. There's also a lot of flatbill cap energy going on there. That Perrin downpipe would fit my 08, but is a couple inches too long for the bugeye, so it pushes my catback out like 4" and it's currently ziptied to the frame until I can get it cut and welded with a new catback. Racecar though, so whatever. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if you could anonymous page it and just not download that spy ware app or web browser on your phone.

My bugeye is still running strong @ 350 on my 22T hybrid. But there is a clunk going on in the front. Been looking all over for it. Jacked the car up, nothing seems loose, suspension seems tight, bushings/endlinks look good. Mystery!
I just picked up an Outback XT in Red with a 5MT! I'm super psyched on it. It's in mint condition. Has a lot of miles on it, 185k. Engine is leaking from eveywhere, power steering is leaking, just what you'd expect from a subie with this many miles. I'll yank the motor in a couple months and reseal everything, replace the head gaskets, clutch, all hoses, bushings, etc. so it will be like new again. I'll rebuild the turbo or get a VF52 or something. Going to keep it pretty much stock so I don't dump too much money into it. Suspension needs to get replaced, and I'll throw in a 1" Subtle Solutions lift while I'm there. Then it's gonna get some 15" Method or Sparco rally wheels and some beefy tires. It's going to be my desert climbing vehicle. And I think I am finally going to sell my 93 Turbo Legacy. It's had a good run and is an awesome car, but I just don't need it anymore. I never thought I would sell it! But it's time. |

WWWEEEELLPPPP I just ordered, block off plates, IAG TGV deletes, IAG fuel rails, IAG braided fuel line kit for the OEM FPR, a GrimmSpeed UP-Pipe, Invidia Catless DP, Perrin short ram intake with a Perrin turbo Inlet... so with all that being said it will be a bit before I get back on the road ( installing everything myself) but afterwards I most definitely will enjoy driving my car again... After a proper tune of course.

Set my appointment at Simple for the 30th. One of my ISC coils needs repair/replacement, power steering pump is toast, and they're putting on my VF52/tuning. It'll be done by Feb. 2nd. It's just tough trying to make new friends at 27 that have the same interests/goals that I do. I have a whole warehouse that I can use to work on cars, but it's usually just me changing oil, brakes, fluids, etc.. I need someone who knows their stuff to guide me on building an engine. |

well at least you have some good plans for it.. also let me kno what you think of simple when its all done, I'm gonna be looking for a shop to tune my WRX when these mods are finally installed.
I feel you on the friend thing, my buddies who got me into cars went down different paths than me and turned into some people I didn't care to hang with anymore.. made a few new friends along the way but always looking for more, I'm usually down to chill when I have the time. |

I'm definitely down man, it will be awhile before I can really leave my house tho. My subie is gonna be down for a few months, after I started getting into all this and started tearing everything down to swap stuff out. I soon learned that the motor is gonna have to come out so I can take care of some other stuff :/ |

Been a minute, sorry everyone. Just had my baby on the 17th. Anyways, I'm considering selling the chassis of one of my Subaru's that already has the roll cage. All it will need is just and engine but not sure how much to sell it for if I decide too.
Would anyone be interested getting a car meet together soon? Even if it's not big but maybe we can do like a cars and coffee or In-n-out Saturday night? Also, if any of you need any advice on pulling a Subaru engine our putting it back together let me know. I can give some guidance, I have done it a couple times now lol. And finally, I took the daily out for some Winter-x over the weekend. Car actually was a lot of fun and did great on ice/snow on the track Last edited by Eww Evo; 01-28-2019 at 07:45 PM. |

Alright,
I got my 02 pulled into the warehouse today. I managed to swap the oil cooler gasket by rotating the cooler assembly with hoses still attached so I could swap the old gasket with the new and not have to drain the whole coolant system. I put the whole thing back together and torqued the retaining bolt to 40 lbs. Hopefully that fixes the oil leak that I was seeing, since it was dropping from the bottom of the filter, it's a common place for them to leak, and I didn't see any leaking above it, I'm fairly confident that will seal the whole thing up. Bugeye's still up on stands though until I get my 08 back. As a newbie, I didn't know that the only difference between the 02-07 and the 08-14 downpipes was about 4". So when I bought my crawford downpipe on my 08 hatch years ago, it pulled my exhaust back in about 4", I didn't think much of it and modded the exhaust exit to have a single cover from the dual exit guys model and went on my way. When I bought the Perrin one for my 02 a few months back, it pushed the catback out about 4" and I just assumed it was a slightly longer pipe. Since I'm taking my 08 down to Simple tomorrow to get work done, I pulled the Perrin downpipe that was on my 02, and I'm going to ask them to do me a solid and swap it with the Crawford one on my 08 while the turbo is out. Cleaned the Perrin cat out with hot water, and it's currently drying on a shop-vac so it's ready to go in tomorrow. Dumb, I know, but now I know the difference and if any exhaust stuff fails in the future I can fix it correctly. That's where I'm at car wise, I hope everyone else is getting along nicely. I'd be down for a meet as long as it's set up after the 2nd so I can actually come. |

Putting the Perrin down pipe on your 08 will make it flush with the bumper since it will push it back out 4" then? Is that what you're looking for or why exactly are you doing the switch between the 2 DP's? As to the car meet after the 2nd i'm perfectly fine with that |

This is how she'll sit until I get my hatch back. Like I said earlier, she's a bit rough around the edges, but so am I. http://imgur.com/a/W7zfmLl |

I'm trying to decide on what direction I want to take my new Subie. I think the first mod I'll do is "paid off" but after that I'm not sure. I've been watching a lot of Launch Control these last few weeks so I'm full of very bad no good awful ideas that certainly need to be tempered by reality and budget.
but a guy can dream right? |
