That dayglo yellow really needs to go, especially on the exhaust tips.

Default 2013 STi or New WRX

So I have the Orange "Special Edition" Sti reserved and it comes in mid-may but I love the look of this new WRX. There's no way I'm going to buy a new one now then again in a year or two cause I like to keep cars till they die. I'm either picking up my MY13 SE STi or waiting for this release. A few things I'm thinking about in my decision are:

1. Will this car have a wayyy nicer interior since the current interior is dated?
2. Is this new WRX gonna have more hp than the current STi?
3. How long will it be until they release a NEW STi version of this WRX?
4. Am I going to be disappointed in a year when this comes out and I don't have it?

I love that for every re-design that's released, most of the people who just bought the now outdated body style are all like "wow, sure am glad I bought one when I did! That thing be nasty!" Lets see if this rings true with this one. It's a beautiful concept!

I freaking love it! I think the side profile looks absolutely amazing. Aggressive as hell. Call me crazy, but I kind of dig the neon.
Also I'm glad they didn't borrow the tail lights from the current impreza/forester.
I'm also really interested to see what they do with the transmission options...

Nobody knows, and anyone that claims to know is full of ****

if I were to guess I'd say that they will give it a nicer/different interior since buru is trying to distance the wrx/sti from imprezza models.

2,3,4,.... who knows?

If you really like the current model... go for it, you can always sell/trade in later

Don't know how I feel about it. While not initially impressed, I would like to see this in another color, and from multiple angles. Perhaps it will look better in real life, but I am not a fan of the design of the rear tail-lights... The whole rear-end itself is not that impressive. I'm curious as to how the hatch will look.

I'm definitely in for more info on the powertrain and suspension though.

I also agree with Bad Noodle:

- Bigger wheel gap

- No carbon roof

no thanks from these pics..

It looks like its going to have a small trunk and minimal rear leg room - on top of (at least for now) no hatchback which is what I would want.

I think its too performance focused and losing its usability.. aka the wife would never approve since it wont hold 2 kids 2 adults and groceries for 4... or stuff for a trip.. or a bike rack.

I dont like the electric yellow - I always liked the red calipers with WRB or DGM cars.

I have a feeling its going to look a lot different in production since the uniqueness usually gets toned down from concept cars.

It doesnt look outdoor sporty to me.. I dont see that car with a bike rack and 2 downhill bikes on it.. The WRX lost its roots.

I dont see rally car.. I see road car.. imagine mud flaps on that thing?

I would like it in a hatch I cant see them dropping the hatch but we will have to wait and see.. I'm curious what the interior is going to look like if it is truly trying to be separate from the Impreza. Over all I like it, its sleek and edgy and I hope it preforms very well.

However I can see the 25K price tag wrx being a thing of the past, and making sti power with a wrx with a tune is not going to be as easy anymore. I think the 11+ is the best bang for the buck and we will never see it again - something differently to be taken advantage of the way I see it. So people shouldnt look back and see the current gen as an ugly looking shoe (GR), they should love it for its potential and cheap price. and lets be honest.. its not THAT bad looking, but this new concept is amazing!

Interesting point on the price point - I hope this thing cost $30K+ - it will increase the trade in of my 2012 WRX when the time comes ha

This concept to me seems like the WRX/STI are going in the direction of EVO...more performance than versatility.

Some will like it, other will hate it. So long as I can fit a full set of tires and wheels in it with the rear seats down (which I have currently in my 2012 sedan right now) I like the changes.

Only thing I will be jealous of though compared to my 2012...it probably doesn't have a plastic interior.

I will trade in my 2013 STi for the 2015 STi. I think it's the best looking wrx/sti to date.

I think I'm one of the few people here who doesn't think this looks like a Subaru at all. This car does not look like something you'd take to a rally track. Or be able to use as any kind of utility vehicle, for that matter. The thing that I've always loved about Subaru is that it is functional in two worlds: performance AND practicality. Call me crazy, but when I look at this car, I see a car that would only function as a performance vehicle. It reminds me more of an Audi or a BMW. While this car's design is obviously very impressive, I don't think it deserves the title "WRX."

agreed. though I do like the way it looks, I think they should make it a 2 door and make it the next gen BRZ.

I think they chose more of a road car route due to that fact that the general trend has become turning WRX/STI into road cars. I'd say, conservatively, 80-90% of people on here would rather put new springs/coils on their car for street use than change their suspension for a more rally/off-road. I'm not picking any side, thats just my general observation. More of the population would benefit from a car that offers road-type advantages.

+1....or maybe 2.

I would be too afraid to take that car on some forest service trail to go hiking, biking or kayaking. At least with my current WRX I could pass for a reasonable, practical, adult human...who happens to like sporty cars. I will cross my fingers and hope for a turbo Crosstrek.
