own 2.5GT Limited... SWP... loving the car. It's a great get away from my wrx lol being stiff and all. It's big inside and gets lots of wow from all these people that rode in the car. I gotta say I get lots of questions about the car...
A quick mod on the car and it'll be nice.. not fond of the wheel gaps but oh well. Love the car no matter what people say. It's just one of those things people would hate... but love deep inside. I mean, this is not the first time for subaru =] |

I had a 2005 Legacy GT. Loved it. However, when I see the old Legacys next to the new ones, it makes the old ones look out-dated and somewhat goofy. I dig the new ones a lot. I'm in the market for a new car and I cannot decide between a WRX Premium sedan or a new Legacy. I don't think I can hold out for the STi sedan...

It's hard to go back to my wrx... when I sit on it I feel cramped and not comfortable anymore... I got use to the lgt. So roomy and just feels great. No worries about anything too... and great sleeper.

Interesting reading -

"Bottom line is that while the styling may put you off, the performance will more than mitigate it, making this the ultimate stealth sedan. It's a family sedan for enthusiasts to consider, not just for enthusiasts to recommend to their non-enthusiast neighbors. And unlike the WRX STi and the Evo X, or the WRX and the Lancer Ralliart and MazdaSpeed3, there is no other midsize sedan on the U.S. market quite like the Subaru Legacy GT. Read more: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0910_2010_subaru_legacy_gt_test/specs.html#ixzz0WtctvxS" I believe we are going shopping on Monday. Test driving is done - decision has been made - just need to decide on color. I hear that there is a few weeks wait for some models/colors - because of demand - so I may have to be flexible on the color choice. |

Gt
I just got the GT model back in September. I traded my Audi A4 for it. The drive is great, but I hate the shifter. It doesn't shift as smooth. It also lacks many standard features that comes with Audi.
I also have an 06 STI as my weekend car. They are nothing alike execpt for the name. I do like how much quieter the Legacy is in comparison to the STI and the older Legacy models. Exceptional comfort with great all wheel drive performance. The 4 cylinder also gives good mileage. |

Recently bought a 2.5i Premium CVT. Harvest Gold. Also own a 2006 Baja Sport, which has nearly 90,000 miles on it now. We put a lot of miles on our cars, so MPG is a priority.
Acceleration is adequate for us... I'd like faster... I'd also like to own a Ferrari. LOL The CVT is simply excellent. Car stays in the powerband, and you can mess with the paddleshifters if you are so inclined. The interior just "feels" so much better. Fit and finish is nice. Its softer, dare I say luxurious. Lots of space... which is a huge issue for me (literally)... I'm 6'5", 250+ pounds. I actually fit IN this car. When I drive the Baja now, I feel like I'm sitting ON it, not IN it. Headroom to spare in this Legacy. Power seats adjust well. Tilt and telescoping steering wheel also helps. Handling feels less "crisp" and "direct" than I expect in a Subaru. But the ride is very smooth and soft... I think the car will benefit from a set of lowering springs and +1 or +2 on the rims. (mine has the 16"). It'll get that once I get the car in a few years. (the wife gets the new car... I get the hand me down). Handling is still "secure"... but it doesn't quite have the same "stuck like glue" feeling I get from the Baja. Still, I like it, and consider it a good tradeoff for this car. My concerns going in were: will it be underpowered with the 2.5 (as the 2.5 feels barely adequate for my Baja)... and, will the CVT suck? Fell in love immediately on the test drive. The 2.5 is adquate. Test drove a 3.6, but for us, the MPG was more important than the extra power. The CVT is simply terrific. A neighbor has a 2009 Legacy, which I think is a beautiful car. But I'd MUCH rather have this 2010. Bigger, better mileage, more comfortable. And while not as pretty as the older model, I think it's handsome in it's own way. Best of all, it's a Subaru! I hope it snows all winter long! |

Subaru Legacy 3.6 R Review
Well after 4 months of owning this car and having owned two Altima 3.5 SE's (an '06 and '08) here are my thoughts on the car.
Pros Love the handling of the car, the low center of gravity and four wheel dirve really make a difference to the handling. The style is upscale, looks like a Euro sports sedan, always getting looks form car people wondering what it is. Nice leather interior and trim, car presents way above the others in this class. Cons I have the non-nav system, therefore my bluetooth is through the tiny speaker in the center console. The sound is awful on the highway and mostly useless. Also, the bluetooth connection is not very good, I have to manually connect every time I start the car and just recently when the phone rings and I answer the phone I get locked into set up mode on the bluetooth and lose the call, kinda frustrating! Since the bluetooth on the cars with Nav uses the car stereo speaker I am not sure why Subaru took away a storage compartment to put a poor quality speaker in its place. Use the car stereo please! Air conditioning is very weak compared to the past 6-7 cars that I have owned. Takes forever to cool and the car automatically goes to recycled air mode on hot days (and stays there unless you manually set to fresh air). Windows get very humid and dirty because of this. The four way flashers often get activated when putting the car in park (too close to the shifter and your knuckles hit it unless you pay close attention). If you fix the bluetooth you can raise the HVAC controls up a couple of inches, gain the space in the too small center console cubby hole. This would solve many nagging issues at one fell swoop. As per above, the center console cubby hole below the four way flashers is very small compared to others in class. Need a sixth gear to improve gas mileage, at highway speeds I am turning 300-400 rev's higher than I was with my Altima's. Tough on gas. Although I am not sure about the torque band and how performance would be affected?? The satellite antenna is aftermarket and therefore glued to the inside front windshield. The only mid size sedan that does this I believe. Looks cheap and not in sync with the upscale look. No auto door lock feature when shifter is placed in drive, something else that is common in this category. No rear passenger air ducts for the HVAC system and no reading lights in the back (now that the car is a true mid size note that families like this touch). |

I have a 2010 LGT and love it. I upgraded from an 05 and it is definitly much better in comparison. more space, quiter and just a potent engine. I do think the transmission leaves a bit to be desired but I am in no way dissapointed with the car.
