Default Boxerfest hits D.C., Big NW website launched, WBM spins off separate track event.

Fellow Subaru Enthusiasts-

The 2014 Subaru event season is well under way and it’s going awesomely. With the 2015 WRXs and STIs appearing all over the scene, quickly getting louder and faster, and with the summer wheels and tires out in full force, everyone seems to be more excited to be out on the road to events more than ever.

To kick off the year, Boxerfest 2014 presented by Subaru of America and COBB Tuning debuted strong at FedExField early this May, with over 1600 Subaru enthusiasts taking part! The Mid-Atlantic’s first annual Subaru enthusiast festival is easily the biggest first year Subaru event to ever happen in the States. The autocross had some serious competition, with Martin Kriz taking fastest time of the day in a 2006 STI. The vendor row was filled with deals on parts and a handful of people walked away having won thousands of dollars worth of goodies and gift certificates to local performance shops. Several gathered around the 22b to compare it to the 2015 STI Launch Edition that Subaru of America had on display.

As for our favorite event out west, the Big Northwest Subaru Meet presented by Dick Hannah Subaru and PERRIN Performance has me really excited for two reasons: 1.) It’s in one of my favorite cities in the world, Portland, OR. 2.) We’re using it as an opportunity to recreate the event into something that not only Subaru enthusiasts will love but will truly represent the people of the Northwest. We’re not only introducing new activities for Subaru lovers, friends, and family, but also their fuzzy four legged friends! To add, we’ll be doing two separate charity drives during the event as well as donating 10% of ticket sales to a non-profit that I’ll be eagerly announcing separately within the next week or so. We’re very much looking forward to seeing everyone at Portland International Raceway on August 10th!

The official BNW website is now live:

Wicked Big Meet presented by Subaru of New England is on it’s way to its biggest year ever (how original), with ticket sales up 50% over 2013 so far and vending sponsor spaces getting close to being sold out. The WBM team is gearing up a variety of new activities for the June 8th event at Stafford Motor Speedway and already have over 2200 event t-shirts on order. Entering it’s 9th year, we’re expecting this WBM to be the biggest Subaru event to ever happen… in the world.

But that’s not all. Yesterday we announced the Wicked Big Track Day. A completely separate spin off event, this track oriented WBM-style Subaru festival will feature seat time on one of the the Northeast’s best road courses for everyone from novices to experts, and even some timed competition for those qualified. Organized in partnership with NASA Northeast, WBM’s sister event will be on August 24th at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Thanks again to everyone in the Subaru enthusiast community for making this year so exciting for our team. Hearing those thousands of boxer motors and seeing everyone stoked to get together makes it all worth it!

See you soon!
