Default My 02 wrx has rough idle. Just replace long block.

Hey guys, Iím new here but have been a Subaru owner for about 2 years now and my wrx has had this problem sense Iíve owned it. But here we go pretty much I just got my ej205 swapped with a new block (also a ej205) because it had a motor knock and blow head gasket. So the people that did the swap for me used my old ecu all the sensors etc, etc but the car is still have sporadic idle, once it cools down the check engine light will pop on and itíll bounce from 1000 to 1500 at a constant rate. The codes are for MAF sensor, coolant temp sensor (which I was told would come on if the car was shooting a MAF code) and also an idle air control valve code. The place that I got the motor from sent me the throttle body with the idle air control valve on it with the motor and used it instead of my old one but they told me the new one was throwing the code so they put the old one back on and it acted way worse so they put the that I got with the motor back on... so thatíd be weird if both of them of them would be bad right? But anyways Iím just trying to figure whatís going on so I can finally drive this car again. Also back when the car had the original motor whoever had the car before messed with the wiring for the maf sensor so I had a mechanic cut it off and solder in a pig tail.. Iím not sure if this could be a problem as well. Like I said in the beginning Iíve had this problem sense Iíve owned the car.

have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor? if dirty, it can cause a rough idle.
