wow a few more pages and comments from left feild on this subject . cant we all just get along ? we are all as unique in our interests as we are with our cars . So someone wants to start another Subaru club in az big deal . I believe this will just give people more options as far as things to do . there are already a few of us who are avid autoxers . is there a club for this ? i wouldnt mind one . But who needs to organize something we just all do for the fun of it ? I guess my take on the subject is Lets give it a chance , get together , and by all means have fun .
had to use the banana . havent used it yet .

It figures that the ball gets rolling just as I'm without my car! This sucks! I hope to be joining in soon, though!

There is also www.RacingSouthWest.com to check out as they occasionally have get togethers.

Hey AZ-GT

Don't give in/up!!

Over 50 and heading your way for the day......via Yarnell

Hey Scoobie fans

How about ONE club with directors for each interest group??
Offroad/racing/autox, cruise night/shows, and road trips. This way WE can all support The Club and Subaru in general.

my 2 cents

I was wondering why none of the links worked on the first page... I was like "this was just in october, why have I never heard of these clubs and why are their sites not working?!!... oh... 10 years ago. Well then."

I know I suck ass at updating the site and replying to emails. After working on computers all day long I hate coming and home and doing it ;-) I am not making excuses, but that is the truth on why it doesn't get updated as much as it should... I will try harder...

This forum is far better than any other website forum for planning events and such, as the userbase in the SWIC is much larger than a club site would be. As Bud said that is why we went this route back in the day.

bugnuts seemed to have nailed it as well. Subaru's are a little different than other cars. Not to pick on Hondas, but the honda club scene on average has younger people involved than the Subaru scene. Different people are looking for different things, some people will never show up to a drive, some will never show up to a BBQ, etc.

If you look around the SWIC there seems to be events quite frequently. In the last month or so Vivid had a big bash, their was an AMP track day, an Auto-X, Trucking nationals, the prescott drive, etc. I think that is a pretty good month. While the "club" didn't plan any of them I think there was a lot of things to do for Subaru guys and girls.

I think a monthly get together would be a good idea. As fun as they are, it is hard to talk to other Subaru fans at race meets and drives. It would be great if we could just pick a day/night every month to have a meet. I know the local DSM guys have a SSS (Second Saturday Sonic meet I think) every month. It would be cool to have something similiar.

Always open to suggestions.

Regards,

Aaron

Gosh, two years ago? At least? And all those big SCIC and original San Tan thread got deleted, so I had it before that. I used to have a lot of free time... don't judge me.

Default New WRX owner

Hey guys,

Im a new owner (around 1.5 months) of a 2006 WRX. I bought this after some lady used my FR-S on 01/25/2019 on Union Hlls and 20th st as her brakes. I wanted a car that I could modify without a car payment. Id like to join a club and hang out with other subbie owners. Thanks!

Too bad everyone sends all the new people away to facebook. This forum used to be a great source of friends and information. Facebook is really not the right platform for storing collective knowledge.
