H-Brace install
I bought a new ebay h-brace. I know the control arm bolt torque is 150.
But looking at the thread below, tightening the read bolts to that torque causes the aluminum to compress and then fail. What do you recommend for the rear bolt torque? https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...h-brace+torque

The traverse link (control arm) nut that is used to mount it to the rear bushing is tightened to 140Lb/ft. The bolts that are used to mount the rear bushing to the frame are tightened to 184Lb/ft.
In general, and to reiterate, if you are using a chassis brace that is of a lesser quality, then most-likely it will deform when the bolt is tightened to 184Lb/ft. You do not reduce the amount of torque on the existing suspension part to accommodate an add-on part. There is a reason why the engineers whom designed the car set this specification. While less expensive and cheap are not necessarily mutually exclusive, they are generally used as synonyms. Install the new item, and if it deforms, it deforms, and you leave it in place. Otherwise buy a better quality item and install it without worry. |

The whiteline rear camber bolts are recognized as good quality and provide a notable improvement in road handling.
I installed them in 2003. They are torqued to a much lower setting than the OEM bolt. This is the same for the whiteline front additional camber bolt. I have no idea what you meant here "While less expensive and cheap are not necessarily mutually exclusive, they are generally used as synonyms." |

I think he means if you get a $5 pizza it tends to be of lesser quality than a $20 pizza, but sometimes you can get comparable quality for the $5

I found the answer elsewhere.
You tighten the bolt until tight, then a further quarter turn. I put a mark across the fastener. So far it has not slipped.(after 2 track days) |
