I recently ordered a bunch of items from them to rebuild my front end. After scouring a bunch of online subaru parts sites and getting prices from my local dealer, I decided to settle on using subaruonlineparts.com

i felt comfortable, since they were indeed related to Grand Prix Subaru in Hicksville, NY which isnt far from me. Using another website, I got all the part numbers I needed, since the standard/common parts lookup for all of these online subaru parts stores seem to suck. I ordered the following by part number: Left knuckle, wheel bearing, inner and outer seals, axle nut, hub and ball joint.

I included my VIN with the order and submitted it. The next day, I got a courtesy call from Marc letting me know I needed a slightly different part number than the one I ordered, likely I submitted an old part number. I appreciated him double checking vs him just shipping the possibly wrong part.

I get the parts and have my buddy press all the parts together. We then realize once my car is apart, that the knuckle they sent me was for the right side, even though the order emails show the left was ordered and in their system it showed as shipped.....not to mention I ordered it specifically by part number. Being how it was a sunday at 4PM, I was screwed and rather pissed off. I emailed them to let them know what happened. After a days worth of back and forth trying to figure out what happened, they agreed to let me keep the already pressed parts (I may as well use them anyways since my right side is all original) and they gave me another order of parts at cost. I really appreciated this, as they didnt have to, and even shipped it next day UPS for me. When I got the box, I indeed got the correct knuckle this time, but was missing the bearing and the ball joint. Again, another round of emails to them. By the end of the day, they assumed they were having internal issues with a worker or something and sent me the parts, again, next day UPS.

In the end, Marc from subaruonlineparts.com went out of his way to help me out and make my order correct even after two issues. My experience with them was 80% positive, 20% negative I would say. They never doubted me when I told them I was missing parts, although they believed it was highly unlikely. However, they dont use packing slips...just go by shipping weight.

I would recommend them for parts as I was pleased in the end. They never answer their 800/877 number, so dont bother calling. I tried 10 times, since I would have rather rectified this whole fiasco by phone, but they never answer. However, they promptly responded to every email, since they even request to use this as their main form of contact. Although they will call if you request so in an email. I felt bad in the end that I had these issues with them, but they were totally redeemed by their promptness and willing to give me even cheaper deals on the parts to make up for mistakes. If you order a large number of parts from them, just make sure you inventory everything once you get it. They do indeed have some of the best prices on parts around the tri-state area and their UPS shipping rates were MUCH cheaper than other sites.

I was assured that the internal issues regarding the shipping of wrong items or leaving items out of the shipment entirely was unlike them and they would investigate it so it wouldnt happen again.

I am just adding to this review because my experience is very similar...with a twist. Had I read this review, I would have confirmed I received all my parts. Unfortunately for me I did not open the box and check for two months as I was waiting on other parts before bringing them into the shop for install.

I had ordered 4 coil springs, but only 3 shipped with my order. I found out the hard way and now they are claiming that the inventory was right and there are no overages. As previously mentioned, the package doesn't come with packing slips to confirm your order and only goes by weight. I'm going to try taking pictures of the box the coils shipped in, but I am likely SOL. Thus my recommendation is to avoid this company and go with another Subaru parts vendor.

Update:

I provided pictures of the boxes and the labels showing two shipping boxes with label saying actual weigh 20lb and 6lb. Measuring the weight of the coils, it would be over 25lb total at 6.5lb a coil spring in it's individual box. The 20lb box was 48" long. Each coil was packaged individually into 16" boxes. So 4 coil springs with a total length of 64" couldn't have fit in this box.

The 6lb box was is slightly too short both length and width for the other potential 4th coil. Also, the rear mounts, stoppers that I ordered was a total of 6lb. If they were to fit the coil spring somehow, which is not the case, then it would be over 12lb. I highly doubt fedex would ship a 12lb box that says actual weight as 6lb in this scenario.

Of course the vendor said Fedex estimates their weight, even though it said actual weight. The vendor still will not ship out the coil even when presented with picture evidence that it is not possible for them to have shipped all 4 coil springs.

Still waiting back on how they can explain shipping the 4th coil spring even when it won't fit in any of the boxes.

AVOID SubaruOnlineParts

Update #2:

Now they're claiming that like kind springs can be shipped together in the same small box. Only problem is the springs came individually shipped in their own box to their department. Which by the way is Grand Prix Subaru of 500 South Broadway, Hicksville, NY. I also sent them pictures of the boxes with the coils. They are just making more excuses in order not to ship what I ordered.

AVOID SubaruOnlineParts and Grand Prix Subaru in Hicksville, NY

Default You Guys...

I don't know why companies let this sort of nonsense fester on the internet. I just found a nice deal on oil filters from subaruonlineparts.com. Thought I'd check for one review before I hit order. This post is on the first page of google when searched...so of course I'm not giving them a shot now.

They must realize that sticking it to one customer makes them lose potentially thousands more in this internet age of ours.

Anyone want to suggest the better shop to order from?

Default Avoid - sharing my experience

Wasn't notified my order was delayed until I asked about it when I didn't get any updates for 5 days. Then was simply informed it was delayed so I had to ask to cancel the one backorder item. For some reason my order wasn't shipped that day, but two days later when I asked for the tracking. Paid $75 for expedited shipping, not getting it until two weeks later. Bad customer service, avoid unless you get free shipping and willing to wait a month.

You can get a good deal on subaru oil filters on amazon now.
