Why did you buy STI?
I do not think that there are any all weather tires that are meant to be used on high performance car, especially in summer.

In my opinion all weather performance tires are garbage in the snow. Anything more than flurries and they get shifty. A few years ago I started running dedicated snow tires in the winter which is the best thing. Even though tire manufactures claim four season they really aren't especially if you deal with a lot of snow or ice.

It all depends on your location and storage space availability. Ideally speaking, it is better to have season specific wheels/tires, however, not everyone has the storage space to do that. Today's all-season tires are more than capable of handling snow up to a few inches on AWD vehicles, especially if we are talking about AWD Audi and Subaru.

When it comes to handling snow, two of the best all-season tires are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and Continental ExtremContact DWS 06, with the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS not too far behind. Out of the 3, and just going from my previous experiences with their predecessors, I would pick the Michelin for the best all around. I find the side wall of the DWS to be too soft and the car tends to lean too much into the corners but it had the best snow handling of all three. The Bridgestone is a great handling tire but does give up some snow traction to the other two.

All Weather or All Season. There seems to be difference nowadays.

I wrote about All Weathers like Crosslimate, Celsius, WR G3/4.

It's no surprise that the Michelin CrossClimate+ won another test, but it was a surprise the "summer optimised" all season tyre from the French manufacturer was second in snow handling. Apparently, it is now a tyre that can do everything.

Just....no. Don't. Please don't be cheap. On your other thread it was said the same way; expensive car requires money to maintain. Don't try to cut corners, it's not a Corolla.

The new Vredestein QuadracPro are supposedly better than the 5s. I have them on my Impreza and waiting for the snow to fall.

I ran all seasons for a bit. It was fine in NY about 30 min north of Manhattan. Yeah they were not great in snow but we get maybe 8 snows a year and roads are cleared fast. Never had any issues. I have summers and winters for many years. It is the best setup for sure. Plus it makes me want to drive in the snow.

If you need to get somewhere in a snow storm gets snows.

But I have always gotten home with all seasons, maybe just slower and with less confidence.

But how do snow tires holdup in the winter when your driving on roads that have been cleaned off or when the temperatures start to get a little warmer? For instance, I'm running summer tires right now in Socal where it's 70 -80 degrees everyday and I'm regularly running hard enough to take advantage of the extra grip. But when the wife and I start hitting up Big Bear for the winter, am I going to be fine driving on Snow tires on the way to the base of the mountain where the temps are still going to be in the 70's?

Performance snow tires can be used in warmer weather, they will just wear down faster and needless to say, you will not have the same kind of traction you enjoy with summer tires.
