New to the Forum and new to the Subaru
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and Subaru, had some nice cars in the past like Lexus IS-F, BMW M3 etc., and always wanted to try Subaru so i just bought one for project, its an 05 STI with 135k miles that i just bought from auction (hope there is still a lot of life left), hit in the front, so i want to convert it to an 06 Hawkeye right away because i need whole frond end anyways so why not...Let me know what you think

135k is a lot of miles. Hope you got it cheap man. Plus sti's just get abysmal gas mileage. Nice car though.

We think you shouldn't use Photobucket.
Use a hosting site like Imgur that lets you link to your pics without blocking them. |

135k isn't a lot of miles if it wasn't abused. If it was abused 40k could be a lot of miles. Many of us have had well over 200k without many issues or headaches. Make sure you do your do diligence; compression and leak down test, timing belt and associated items including water pump, trans and rear diff fluids, use a quality 5w-40 oil, Subaru green coolant, etc. These will help you get the most mileage and life out of it. Adding modifications can reduce that life depending on what you add and how aggressive it's tuned. Do your homework, don't cheap out and you'll have a good car. If it was treated well before you that is.

STi is home
Hey folks the STi is in, got it last week, didnt get to it yet but quickly checked it out to see how much work i have, also have a few questions. So it looks like i have these mods so far
1. Kinugawa TD06SL2-20G Turbo 2. Some afretmarket injectors??? 3. Infidia Full exhaust 4. Perring Headers this is what i was able to see right away, will look for more stuff this week I was wondering if its possible somehow to tell if the motor was swapped? (because the engine looks too clean for the year and mileage of my STi). I dont know how to look for the VIN on the block or maybe there are some visible differences between the EJ25s in certain years? Also have some black aftermarket injectors Im assuming if the stock should be yellow? Last edited by A_COOL_OFF; 11-03-2019 at 06:59 PM. Reason: picture not showing |

So far i know this STi is already a beast, looks like someone swapped a newer EJ25 in it i just have to find out what year and hopefully the mileage of this motor, but it should make a lot of HP already, just need to figure some other things and jump in to a project
Plans are: Hawk eye conversion ( maybe WRC version) Rocket Bunny wide body kit some Flow Formed wheels 18 x 10.5 or similar coilovers front mount intercooler so far this is everything that i could think of right now.....maybe some other little things |

Oh man this is going to be sweet. Please post as you go!
Unfortunately Rocket Bunny doesn't make a kit but there are a few good ones from other manufactures. |

would i need a bigger turbo to make more power? what turbo would i need? i already have bigger fuel pump just didnt get to check what kind it is. Previous owner made 325whp and he had a bad td06 20g (a lot of shaft play), stock airbox with stock turbo inlet and stock TMIC
