this is on a subaru impreza 2.5i 2010

What is this and why suddenly would it start leaking oil?

Could this be the camshaft seal and how hard is this to fix?

This was taken from the rear of the engine on the passenger side and it is below the air intake that is next to the firewall

Looks like the oil pressure switch could be leaking (highest point with oil around it) Clean the area with brake clean then start it up and recheck.

Agree with the other guy. Also check your oil cooler gasket. Imprezas are somewhat notorious for cooler gaskets going out. Oilpressur switch is probably it, but check your oil cooler too

Traction control and ABS are both features of the braking system. Your original problem is with oil on the rear of the right hand Head. Those are different systems and unlikely to be related.

What does "pissing oil" mean? Is it spraying and you could video it? or is it seeping out slowly? If it's the former, please provide video. If it's the latter, do like someone else said and (since it's really cold out) warm the engine up, then turn it off and give it a good hosing down with brake parts cleaner. Then start it and see if you can find the origin. Post more picks.

From the build up it looks like it's had at least a slow leak from the top of the oil pressure switch for a while. That's what triggers the AVLS.

These oil pressure switches are known to leak (the switch with the white connector). Thread in a new one (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN), clean the residual and call it a day!

Default Oil Leak

I agree with the others but I would take it a step further. Clean and reseal the oil pressure switch and replace the gasket for the cam timing solenoid. Clean and retest. Its super easy and you would eliminate all oil leak problems in this area. The gasket would only cost a few bucks and its 4 bolts to remove the solenoid. I usually go above and beyond like this personally.
