Clicking sound?
Hi guys. New here. I got an 09 Subaru Impreza hatch last week and 3 days after I got it the car started clicking. She's an auto with 156k on it. No one I know can figure it out including my insanely car savvy dad. So here is my best explanation of it, and when it happens:
First I want to say, the car did NOT have this sound when we test drove it and we test drove about 3 times, on a couple of different days so I know it isn't a normal sound. Anyways, here's the info: Stopping the car, but not EVERY time, if I am sitting still and press brakes, no sound, but if the car is moving and only when it's moving, there's a quiet but noticeable clicking. By this I mean, if my radio is on 25, the clicking gets "muted" but if its any lower, you can hear it. This clicking also happens when I sometimes (again not all the time) start moving but only for a second. Sometimes the clicking happens when I am turning but most importantly, it's only when the car is moving at slow speeds. It is not a clunking noise, it isn't whistling, it's just a quiet click that's constant for a few seconds before it goes away. It doesn't happen over bumps (PA has plenty of bumps and potholes) and it doesn't happen if I turn the wheel in either direction if I'm sitting. I have also bounced the car and it doesn't happen if I'm purposely moving it (tried to check the struts). What I've noticed with the clicking is it is not consistent. I've also checked fluid levels, everything looks good. Any ideas?

Have the axles and wheel bearings checked. Maybe just a piece of gravel or something in a tread block of a tire

Don't see any screws.
Checked the axels, wheel bearings, struts, cv axle, bushings and end links, all look good. I'll go give the tires another look though |

way late update
Apparently there is rust on the shocks which is what's causing the noise. A little silicone spray and it went away!
