Also, avocados are your friend. Plus plenty of fluids. Dehydration is the usual cause of cramps like that. Fluids and electrolytes are key.

Yeah, I had helped a friend move yesterday afternoon so I probably was dehydrated. I've never had a cramp like that still be so painful even the next day though. It's actually tender to the touch. Damn I am old.

I can't disagree. But everything else makes up for it.

Shockingly it does get a lot of positive attention. And it must be selling well, dealer offered over sticker for trade in.

Yeah the longer the spasm goes without you finding the way to stretch it out, the longer the residual pain will be because the muscle is contracting hard af.

This is my favorite thing lately:

A color changing car, freaking amazing feat of technology and hella futuristic, and the guy says "only if we didn't have that big nose here"

The thing could drive like a GT3, if it’s ugly as sin, I’m not going to buy it.

It’s unfortunate because the M division did seem to really knock it out of the park with its performance.

The other thing that pisses me off is that 6MT is only on the lowest spec, which is ridiculous.

Honestly, you can’t judge it’s popularity by the car lots. If that’s the case, a Corolla is the best thing ever.

Really? I thought the usual cause of cramps in that situation was holding the Captain Morgans position too long without shifting to the opposite leg.

I'll happily take the mid-sexors calf cramp over completely blowing the dismount and winding up in the ER.

Companies with ridiculous policies intended solely to screw you over.

Example:

Company wants to hire my small biz for services. Then they begin listing all the requirements.
Biz license?....yup
Liability insurance?...check
Workers comp?...of course
Been in biz 10+ years?...yep

Mostly standard. Then:
Ok, we also require a theft policy up to $500k limit
And comprehensive coverage on your work vehicle. (Why?!?)
And a $1M umbrella policy.
"Non-negotiable and standard, required of anyone contracted work to."

We ask them to describe a scenario requiring any of those that isn't already covered by the typical policies we already have?

Crickets.

Even our insurance agent was all WTF? He recommended we just tell them no thanks.

Instead wife calls and tells them we'll be happy to comply. But we'll be increasing monthly service fees by (2x cost of additional coverage).

Suddenly they are willing to negotiate and waive the additional coverage required!

Then they get into other administrative stuff. It must be at least 180 days past due before they will conduct inquiry. You must bill us electronically using this exact form and only this form. Form subject to change without notice. Electronic submissions must follow this exact (56-character!) filename format or will be denied. Invoices must be received within 15 days of service or payment will be delayed at least 90 days.

Clearly these are in place to completely frustrate small biz with few staff hoping they'll simply give up pursuing payment.

What kills me is they have these huge insurance requirements that small biz is never going to carry, but are clearly seeking to hire small biz that are likely to give up on billing.

You may not have ever had a charley horse. It's like a red hot steel blade was shoved into your leg. There's no powering through unless you catch it at onset and stretch the right way to fix it.

Saw there was a new Macbeth movie. Apple TV+, Denzel Washington as Macbeth, good Rotten Tomatoes score.

Went to watch it, and just can't understand the dialogue. My modern brain is too dumb for it. Subtitles let me see the words clearly, sure, but parsing it into sense is the issue.

You're not too dumb for it. Shakespeare is overrated.

Starting around a minute in, he talks about language, then goes into what the 3 little pigs would be like in Shakespeare's time.

This is a common problem for many small businesses across sectors. The key is letting them know you are a XX consultant not an insurance company. Your response is usually the best. Just say you can buy the insurance and pass the cost directly on to them.

Payment terms/conditions are another common problem. They try to use you as a bank instead this time. The answer is the same, require payment in a fair period and then charge late fees/interest. Then you don't mind waiting 180 days to inquire.

I have had intense bouts of tinnitus the past few weeks/month.
Tuesday at 2pm in my office and my ears are RINGING. Goes away in anywhere from 5 to 50 minutes.

That blows. I get it when I'm in a room that's dead silent. I've had that ever since I was little.

I have tinnitus all the time. Usually I can tune it out but it's very noticeable in a quiet room.

I have had some ringing on and off over the years but coincidence or not it became permanent after I got my first Covid shot.

However, I also started taking Wellbutrin around the same time and I do see that tinnitus can be a side affect.

I just assumed this was normal, especially with aging.

If I listen for it, I can hear it, and that's easier in a quiet room.

But I don't usually have any issues tuning it out. It doesn't keep me awake.

Between marching bands, power tools, gunfire, headphones, and driving long distances with the radio up & windows down...I figure I'm less than 10yrs from being told I should be using a hearing aid.

I use fans year round, to tune it out. I couldn't sleep at night without them.

Was around too many race cars, guns, rock concerts growing up.

I have it pretty bad too, and unfortunately I wear earplugs at night so I can sleep through my dog's snoring, so it's more noticeable when those are in. I've gotten used to it now, mostly. My doctor says that the intensity can vary based on diet and sodium intake, but I have not noticed that. Thankfully my hearing is still really, really good.
