Yeah I have a passing familiarity with the Grant Morrison run of the Doom Patrol comics of the 90s, that's what got me interested in checking out the TV show. I was not disappointed.

It's one of those things where she's VERY "white girl", which is super annoying. But I keep watching because she does have moments of self-realization as she's forced to confront her past and improper coping mechanisms. She's also learning about friendship and family. So these later episodes haven't been bad at all. They just take their sweet time developing a character arc for someone who's very annoying and typical. If the acting wasn't so well-done then I would've jumped off sooner. I just wish they would've toned down the "white girl" tropes just a bit.

Interesting episode, I had to then go rewatch the finale of S1 to remember some stuff. I forgot how great the audio and visuals are for the show.

Not to spoil, so was the reveal in that Jules episode what I think it was, or am I not remembering other stuff from S1? Just doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

That she is trans? That was part of the plot of season one.

I'll re-up when Godzilla vs. Kong comes out in March. I'll pay $14.99 to watch that for sure. Wonder Woman 84 was just very bleh, but at least I enjoyed Raised by Wolves, IT 2 and Ad Astra

Yup sorry, I poked around some episodes and I guess I just totally forgot that major part of the whole story. Whenever S2 comes out I'll probably rewatch anyway. Too bad Zendaya was wasted on a junky version of MJ in Spiderman, I think she could play a pretty strong role otherwise.

Apparently there is a Remastered version of Babylon 5 on HBO Max now???

I'm going to have to take a look at that to see if it really is superior quality to the DVD's

I am really enjoying the show.

Watcht.
It's another show with a good premise but it relies too much on specticle than logic or actual storytelling structure. Had it ended after episode 2, when the first trip fact finding
Mission/story ended, it would have been a great miniseries. I quickly lost interest immediately after that.

I'm watching Boardwalk Empire instead and it's friggin Fantastic!!!......and as you can see, I'm a harsh critic.

Have been watching Dark Materials. Through the first season, and it's got me hooked.

I finished Lovecraft Country and I really loved it. I kept getting Indiana Jones vibes throughout.
I really wasn't sure what to expect, but once I started it, I was fully on-board.
It's adventurous and fund, but at times, neck-deep in social commentary.

Boardwalk Empire is an absolute must-watch. One of my favorite series. I've been meaning to re-watch it.

Doom Patrol I really need to watch. I haven't seen any trailers or anything. I think I was gonna wait for Season 3 because I heard Season 2 ended abruptly, maybe because of COVID, iirc.

We finally started the show last night and after two episodes, I can see where your comments are coming from, but I also think that is kind of the point of the show.
It reminds me a little bit of the great "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret", where the whole premise is what would happen if the main character makes the wrong decision every goddamn time.

I am only two episodes in, so I'll reserve judgement after I finish the show, but so far, it has been amusing. Few chuckles, a lot of "why the **** would you do that"s.

It has some great Japanese movies: Tampopo, the Samurai trilogy, Kurosawa movies...

What's cool is that HBO Max includes the Babylon 5 pilot movie: The Gathering, which a lot of other streaming services left out when they had the license (Netflix, Amazon Prime)

Also the first appearance of Lyta Alexander before she was replaced by the blond Telepath Talia in the series, and subsequently came back to the show to replace Talia, lol.

Sadly they don't seem to have the other movies.

So I rewatched the B5 pilot film, it's so interesting in seeing the very primitive CGI in clean crisp HD

They dont have "in the beginning"? I think that was the one with humanity's last stand.

The pilot actually isn't remastered.

They couldn't remaster it because the original film of it was destroyed in the North Ridge quake

Anybody watch The Little Things yet?

Curious how it is. It's not doing particularly well on RT with only a 48% right now.
