I have been trying to figure out a BCM 300blk upper that has a FTE problem but only when it is hot with Black Hills and Sig ammo. At this point I will probably **** can the upper because I literally cannot find components and factory ammo if it is available is ~$4.00 a round before shipping.

2019 pricing was pre-Obama pricing, more or less. Those days are gone if the legislative agenda moves forward on any front, be it DC statehood, restrictions, or outright bans.

And I sold my subs for $1.7/rd shipped last week...

I just loaded some new P mags with 62gr rounds... $18.50 per box of 50rds (circa 2017 IIRC).

I've only been a firearm owner for a little over a year, but watching all this really makes me want to stock up if prices ever get back to what was considered normal. Most of the ammo I'm looking for is unavailable or 2-3x the prices a year ago. Walked into a Cabela's on the weekend and the ONLY ammo they had was 12 gauge.
having worked in the ammunition making business, it took over 3yrs past sandyhook to get close to normal. this isnt going away quickly.

Is anybody on here on Midwest Gun Trader? Just curious because I had an account before they updated or changed whatever they did but now I can’t get signed up. I don’t receive the email verification and I try to contact the forum admins and don’t get those emails either. I’ve checked all my email folders to see if they are going to junk/spam but it seems Gmail is blocking them completely.

You only need a moderate amount of ammo if shtf. The rest you can...uh...scavenge for.

Just look for the guy driving the pickup plastered with firearm related stickers. I bet he has several thousand rounds. He’s probably not that smart either if he shows that level of indiscretion.

"Pardon me fellow patriot, but I was circled by some leftists and due to their shenanigans and its impact on the marketplace I was without ammo for my sidearm. Would you be in a position to sell me some of your surplus so in the coming fight for liberty I might take the field with you?"

"Huh?"

"Commie pinkos, war's coming, god bless America, no ammo to choot'em"

"Yessir, follow me to mah compound"

When steel was $0.70/rd online, I sold brass for $0.60/rd no problem. When it’s available at decent retailers it’s cheaper, but between bots and demand there’s not a fair chance to get it.

nah, i'm not a mag dumper. especially these days. i buy when it's cheap so i don't run into supply issues when prices inevitably go up.

I sold my S&B case for $1700 shipped. Online prices might be >$3/rd, but no one is paying that IMO. At least not yet.

I finally tracked down an SR-30 upper at a reasonable cost.

A case of .223 I got at a show in 2018 for under $300 is $800 now.

Went to shoot with a couple friends yesterday morning and the store was out of ammo, the guy said first time for that.

Wow. I haven’t been shooting much at all due to this crap. I’ve got plenty of ammo but I always restock what I shoot and I never hit the range with less than 300 rounds. $800 a case? F. I remember restocking 556 and I was buying good brass and getting it for $300 shipped. 762X39 for $220 and 9mm was $200 shipped for 124gr.

For now. Every time this has happened, I have been patient, and waited it out. When it normalizes, I’m buying a case a month. It’ll come back to something somewhere normal as soon as this pandemic chills out. But due to politics and fear mongering may take some more time than even that

there are a LOT of new shooters and people that need to restock their supply. i don't think we will ever see 2019 pricing again and it will take years to get "decent" pricing.

I have a stripped lower, all the lower bits and pieces, trigger, and barrel. The rest of the upper and pistol brace can wait for sales.

Y'all dudes say this every time the big D takes office. And yet, it eventually comes down as supply catches back up.
