Default COBB SF cold air intake in California

Hey I’m trying to get this intake but I’ve been reading recently that most of not all cold air intakes including this one are not CARB legal and will not pass the smog check/emissions test. I’ve tried to research this myself and couldn’t find anything. There is no black and white list that says “these are legal in California and will pass emissions.” Does anybody have any knowledge of what intakes are legal or if anyone lives in Cali and has aftermarket parts installed and have passed emissions.

Don't think, research. Your car comes with an excellent stock cold air intake, you assume too much. There is a black and white list, you need to to search via a PC and not your phone.

Having said the above, don't spend $300 on a product that will net you 0HP and 0TQ. An intake is for later in your upgrade path and requires tuning...roughly...when you are at 350WHP or above and/or your tuner directs you to buy one.

considering an intake does virtually nothing I can't imagine it affects anything at all even in an idiotic state like california where it appears politicians do Bourbon Club with 4 people per handle of booze and then create laws once the 12 shots each have set in.

Plus, why get that anyway? It does basically nothing.

Oh and I also agree with the others. Why spend money on any non-factory intake which will only make louder intake sounds while you have to deal with living within California?

Makes for a funny mental image but this applies (although sarcastic which I approve) logic to CARB. Never apply logic to anything CARB does.
