The other end of that safety line better be attached to a helicopter.

that was my thought.

I'm jealous as hell of those types of people for many reasons. One is I can't walk on some nice trails due to sheer drops but nice old ladies have no problem casually walking them looking at me grabbing onto trees so I can get off the trail. It was a better day for a drive on a flat road anyway.

Another angle:

Quote:
The incident happened at the fourth annual Hsinchu City International Kite Festival, at the Nanliao Fishing Port in northern Taiwan. According to Taiwan News, the toddler became entangled in the kite's tail strings when powerful winds kicked up.

The outlet reported that the winds measured Level 7 on the Beaufort scale. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration describes Level 7 wind conditions on its website as a "near gale" that causes "whole trees moving, resistance felt walking against wind."
Yikes, that's a lot of wind for kites. https://www.weather.gov/mfl/beaufort

That could have ended very badly. Guess they're going to have to learn to keep people clear of the tail in the future.

Wow...you really gotta be an adrenaline junky to do something that risky. I can only imagine how hot that safety hook got.
