Just be aware of where you live. Carvana docked us -$858 for living in NY due to COVID (not us, but I guess people aren't looking to buy from the state itself).

Dealer offered me $1k more on my raptor than I paid for it back in May (April?). I’ve put 8k miles on it and it has some solid scratches on the factory fender flares.

Now if they would just get in a 2017/2018 lariat with 2.7lt. Hell, I’ll take an XLT if I have to.

Damn that’s solid for you. I’d be putting little to no miles on it since you want to get rid of it. I’m guessing you don’t want a new 2.7L because you want someone else to take the depreciation hit? No interest in the 3.5L?

If I can save $10k by buying a truck with 25k-30k miles, I’d prefer to do that. I’ll likely end up with the 3.5 Ecoboost since it’s near impossible to find a 2.7lt in Utah. Everyone NEEDS the bigger 3.5lt for dick size reassurance. I liked my 2.7lt. It spools quickly and gets going rather effortlessly and I got some damn solid mpg out of it on long freeway drives.

However it does run out of steam in the mid to upper gears when punching it on the freeway but I’ve never had issues. The 3.5lt non high output is a lagwagon but probably more optimal for towing the 20ft trailer.

The 3.5 I drove was b2b with the 2.7. No load, just me test driving, that 3.5 was faster in a straight line. Both were impressive, wasn't expecting that kind of acceleration out of a full size truck but the 3.5 definitely was faster. I drove them in the exact same place and when I hit it in the 3.5 I was like got damn, this thing is fast. The seats were ridic, lazy-boy chairs. It's just the BOF handling which got me to walk. Like you I think the 2.7 EB is sufficient but if the price delta between the 3.5L is minimal I'd take the additional power. MPG? In a truck, like this, irrelevant to me. I get 20 in my Honduh the way I drive it and I don't care but it's not my DD.

The 2.7lt values tank hard out here so the delta is significant. Finding one is just a pain in the ass. We’re looking at a delta for $7500-$10k with same mileage on a lariat. XLT delta is maybe $5k.

I’m half tempted to just pick up a bare bones XL 4 door with 3.5lt and max tow and call it good if the price is good enough. Having AC seats in my raptor will be hard to part with hence wanting a lariat.

There is a low mileage platinum for $46k but don’t see the value. The massage seats are stupid

This deal is going to just keep going on. High case count will continue until flu season then gas will be poured on the fire. Just be hardcore patient. Eventually, the pause button on these payments are going to end, and you'll see repos flood the market. It'll be the people who shouldn't have bought the vehicle in the first place, overbought, etc. That has all been on hold for months but the chickens always come home to roost. The repo men are ready to roll and will.

I’ve legit done the pre business work on opening up a impound lot simply because of this (and the fact o see impound lots filling up fast). Profit is legit, however I feel bad repo’ing people’s stuff, especially for the lower class.

Wouldn’t feel bad about repo’ing all the over leveraged buyers and there expensive cars, trucks, boats, and UTV’s though.

Tesla is ‘highly likely’ to make smaller Cybertruck for Europe, says Elon Musk
Quote:
Smaller Tesla Cybertruck
Not long after unveiling the Cybertruck prototype last year, Musk started talking about making the electric pickup smaller to fit inside a regular garage.

Earlier this year, Musk made several comments regarding the Tesla Cybertruck and how it will change when it reaches production.

He talked about how owners will need to wrap the electric pickup to get different colors, and he said that Tesla is updating the Cybertruck’s adaptive air suspension.

The CEO was asked what the biggest change is to Cybertruck from the prototype, and he responded that Tesla “reduced the size by ~3%,” made the “center line more level,” and “lowered the window sill height.”

In May, Musk scrapped the plan to make the electric pickup truck smaller after reviewing the design with his chief designer:
Reviewed [the Cybertruck] design with Franz last night. Even 3% smaller is too small. It will be pretty much this size [referring to the prototype].
The prototype that Tesla unveiled is 231.7 inches long, 79.8 inches wide, and 75 inches tall, with up to a 35-degree approach angle, a 28-degree departure angle and up to 16 inches of ground clearance.

It’s similar in size to some of the bigger versions of the Ford F-150, like the one pictured above next to the Tesla Cybertruck prototype.

However, he didn’t close the door to making a smaller version in the future – just not making the first Cybertruck any smaller than the prototype.

Now on Twitter last night the CEO said that Tesla is ‘highly likely’ to make a smaller version for Europe “down the road”:
Twitter

Quote:
The CEO didn’t offer any possible timeline on a smaller version of the Cybertruck for Europe.

Tesla currently plans to bring the electric pickup truck to production at Gigafactory Austin late in 2021.

Pickup Trucks in Europe
Pickup trucks haven’t caught on in Europe as they did in North America for several reasons, but mainly due to stricter emission regulations and their size.

The former is not going to be a problem for Cybertruck, which is a zero-emission vehicle, but the latter can indeed be a problem.

While most European markets have modernized their roadways, many major cities are still designed for smaller more compact vehicles and they make pickup trucks hard to maneuver.

It made narrower work vans more popular as work vehicles in many European cities.

Nonetheless, pickup trucks have gained some popularity in recent years and analysts were predicting about 200,000 sales in Europe in 2020 before the pandemic.

That’s a decent market, but it is nothing compared to the more than 3 million pickup trucks that Americans bought last year alone.

Maybe not Europe but a ranger size Cyber truck could do well in Australia, New Zealand, and some of the Asian countries that seem to love the Ranger. Pricing would be a big factor there.

NZ’s Supercharger coverage is a bit sparse.

Stock split any one 5:1 coming up in the end August

And a stock Model 3 Performance non track package can keep up with a Porsche GT3 RS around the Nürburgring

He didn't like the stock brake pads

Are you talking about the current gen 3.5, or the direct injection only one? I have a 2018 3.5TT (dual injection) and never have I thought that it was laggy.

Ahh the musk reality distortion field, he couldn't even overtake a mini before he needed to stop to cool down

For reference, a stock GT3 RS does 6:56.4 around the Nürburgring.

The fastest recorded model 3 time I can find is 9 minutes...

I didn't say that the Model 3 can keep up with the GT3 RS the guy that has a youtube channel about driving/racing cars around the Nürburgring said that at the 12:28 mark "today we learn that the model 3 can definitely keep with the GT3 RS and can definitely go beyond that with better brakes." He has videos of him driving a Bugatti Chiron and a McLaren Senna around the ring so I would assume that he knows what he is talking about. He also has company about taxi driving people around the ring. The guy doesn't even like Tesla he was trash talking Tesla when the Model S Plaid was testing around the Nürburgring. Go complain to that funboi for his comments.

There is no way the tesla was keeping up with that Porsche - it was pulling away in the straights and then the Tesla caught up in the corners because the Porsche driver was either terrible or was babying the car.

If you go around quoting people without context it means you are endorsing what they say.

Edit: Just put 2 videos side by side

you should take your GT3 RS around the ring and let us know how it goes. . It is not the first video that we have seen Tesla race other better cars and beating them.... maybe all the Tesla drivers are good drivers . People take everything so seriously.

did this video also make you mad?

Not mad, just find it interesting that someone on a car enthusiast board knows so little about cars yet talks so much.

Serious question as I don't know. But how does a Tesla hold up on a 20 minute session? I'm not sure if this has already been fixed but I remember one gripe was how they can throw down 1-3 laps and then the battery gets too hot or something happens that prevents them from completing a typical open track session.

Without a doubt it's impressive to an extent that it will beat a gt3rs on a single lap on some tracks. The use of electronics to provide ultimate performance instead of a assitance / nannies full off kind of seem unfair and takes away from actual racing but thats whatever.

The Tesla wont beat the gt3rs with decent drivers in pretty much any situation.

Click the link below which shows a gt3rs and the model 3 starting at the same point, its no comparison:

I need to check on updates, but last I saw the updated Model3 track was able to do a 30 minutes session with no real issues.

So basically what we need is an actual timed several lap race using the same driver, same track with conditions and ideally same tires.

Nuff said.

the Tesla performance is only significant because it is the equiv of the Jetta from the other side of VAG. We have not seen the Tesla sports car in anything other than prototype form. Compare apples to apples when it arrives.
