What say, ye, OT? Put the EVGA 2080ti up for sale now in anticipation of the new cards later this year and using onboard graphics for a while or wait until the new cards hit and risk the bigger $ loss? I guess my fear is more in the realm of do I want a reference card at launch, or do I want to wait for the different manufacturer cards that always come later.

IMO, I'd wait until the new cards actually hit the market and see what their real prices/performance looks like. But then again, I'm a cheap ass. |

If you're not playing anything for a few months sell it now. The used market usually doesn't change that much. Availability might be a concern. The reference designs look pretty good, maybe not the best for noise though.

I don't think the used market is going to bottom out between now and then.

I was thinking of grabbing a 1650 Super (~$140) to hold me over through September and October before investing into a modern $500 card.

Do it fast. NVidia has already stopped production of the RTX 20XX parts. Supplies are going to dry up before the Ampere parts come out

Be careful, they will (without making it clear) bounce you to a Marketplace seller. Most of them are in China and enjoy sending people Previously RMA'd goods. Newegg is definitely on my naughty list. They did FINALLY refund me the money for that motherboard however.

Are there any other good places to buy online other than Amazon? Microcenter?

For parts? Would say Amazon most reliable with Newegg second. I order from both interchangeably and have done 2-3 previous full builds with them. Will do quick price comparison on pcpartpicker and go from there. Aside from nzxt and monoprice, have not gambled on any other vendors due to major headaches in the past. Current PC was a full build from cyberpowerpc and have been really happy with it.

I have an M.2 SSD that came in my ASUS, but I ordered a better one, and I want to put the old one in a USB 3.2 case. I also have a 500GB SSD that was my tower system drive I with which I want to do the same. Has anyone experience with them, all the same?
I see ORICO, Sabrent and Wavlink. ASUS has one for $65 |

ordered the parts. Ended up going with a ASUS Z390-A Prime. Spent some more time comparing motherboards since the Gigabyte model sold out. I think I've noticed that the boards are 95% similar and a premium is paid for overclocking bells/whistles i likely won't be using. Im glad i spent time comparing because it was an area where I could save money on a new, decent board that was actually in stock.
Ended up going with a good reputation budget card (1650 SUPER) to hold me over a few months. Thanks for the pcpartpicker tip, forgot about that site. |

I've not sold computer parts in the past. I've got a 1060-6gb card sitting here on my desk. Ebay says I could probably get $70-90. Ugh the idea of putting it on craigslist makes me dread it.
