I mean, there's this. But yeah, a proper new S2K would be sweet.

Yep. I got it to spin, stock. Then the same owner, modded and tuned, and I got torque steer to go along with the wheel spin.

You made the right decision. I’d take that archaic EJ over the CTR. Now if Honda puts the AWD system on my truck in that thing with torque vectoring rear half shafts, I’m interested. Their SH-AWD is outstanding. They need AWD and tone down the F&F looks and you’d have winner.

Let’s see what Subaru does next year. The killer is going to be the mfr who buys GKN’s Twinster and puts in on both axles. Whomever does that is going to have made the GOAT if the engine is decent. My RS was phenomenal handling. I’ve driven some very expensive cars and I can think of nothing that could keep up with the RS on a damp windy road. When the fronts torque vector as well, the thing will be glued to the road in any weather condition with proper tires. C’mon Subaru, your move!

I work on them, they are amazing so far as Hondas are concerned. Not surprised it would excel on the circuit designed by Honda for testing. It's definitely fun to drive.

Last I heard, the USA was taking over hatch production, so I have high hopes of an 11th gen SI hatch.

Unfortunately, Honda seems to struggle every other generation so the 11th gen might be a repeat of the 9th. In which case, I'm out.
Yeah, that does make sense, and I heard hatch sales were like double what they expected. The Civic hatch is really more like a fastback - very different from the GTI-type tall short hatches - that's why I like it. The GTI hatch is only useful if you fold the seats down, while a fastback is much more practical with seats up.

Yeah, the spy shots of what people think is 11th gen Type R make the car look huge, they could definitely screw it up.

11 seconds is a long time - you'd see the first car pass and think "what the heck happened to the second car, did it crash?"

12 laps and you're getting passed.

Honda doesn't get it, it is taking the easy way out.
Yeah, they do need to do that. Hopefully making the Civic fun again is a step in the right direction. I think there was a long gap where the high revving small four cylinders weren't competitive - now that they've gone turbo you could see another sports car. I'd rather they do a V6 but those seem to be getting rare too.

Yep. You get it.

It's one of those cars that you buy and have fun during the honeymoon period. Then you realize Japan also has large expressways and roads outside the city and little villages and that little thing will not accelerate worth a damn getting stomped on by SUV's and trucks.

Of course, shedding a bit of weight would help with the power deficit of a naturally aspirated power plant.

Every review about the Type R talks about how wonderful a drivers car it its, how good the seats are, how practical it is etc. Yet there always seems to be a lot of barely used ones for sale, you'd think people would be keeping these forever especially since so many were bought with ADM. This was true pre-Covid too, so it's not just the pandemic causing the issue.

I'm sure some of them aren't used to 300 hp FWD cars if they're coming from something like an S4. Others may be shocked by the build quality on UK Civics, if my Sport hatch is any indicator. I don't mind in a $21k car but in a $36k car it's probably a bit of a shock.

It's a very different experience than sitting in a GTI or Golf R, that's for sure.

Or maybe people are just growing out of the styling. Even for many enthusiasts, it was pretty over the top.

From my time on those forums it seems that the lifelong Honda fans love the car the most because FWD is all they know. A lot of non-Honda people bought these cars because of they review hype being the first Type R in NA for decades and realized quickly that no matter what trickery you do to make a car fast around a track, FWD is still FWD at the end of the day and when you aren't tracking, you are stuck driving the least fun configuration of automobile on the street. As said above the build quality is shockingly bad for a Honda.

speaking of build quality.

I bought a brand new honda accord touring 2.0 in March. It has been in the shop 3 times in 4 months and is currently there for the same issue, "Supplemental Restraint System failure, see dealer warning"

so basically my airbags are faulty. They have had the seats out of the car, replaced wiring, and it threw this warning no less than 3 times.

I am currently without my car now as it is in their incapable hands. Oh my car has 500 miles on it.

as soon as the Bronco is available I am ditching the damn thing

That 2.0 is the same motor (albeit detuned) found in the CTR, no? How do you like it in the Accord?

No, it's not. Different guts, different turbo and the list goes on - everyone thinks that though.

Yeah, I would happily have signed on the line if we got the same motor as the Mugen RR - N/A and all.

I had an '06 RSX-Type S with all the bolt-ons and I've yet to experience another N/A Honda motor that felt as angry, all the time, as that one did.

Same motor not same motor, don't care. It is a peach of an engine. Lots of low end torque and the 10 speed keeps it in a sweet spot of the range. The car could have really used an LSD as it has no issues over powering the tires mostly in turns at hard throttle in the first 2 gears. But I mean, it is a family car. It is legitimately entertaining to drive. It is decently responsive to steering and overall does not feel too bloated or floaty. It is worlds better than the Legacy and in sport mode the dampers get mildly effective.

They did a great job with this car, well except MINE, but the accord is really good. A good set of tires would do amazing things for this car.

I had an '06 RSX-S as well albeit with just an intake and exhaust on it, but boy do I miss driving that thing and revving the hell out of it. In comparison, the WRX has the complete opposite driving dynamic, where all the fun is in the midrange and it kinda falls flat after 5K or so. Boost is fun, though, but so is a high-revving NA screamer.

Of course bro, I initially thought the same exact same thing.

Yes, my '06 RSX-S was one of the cars I miss the most; I traded it in for my '07 STi that I owned for nearly 12 years and I still miss that damn RSX-S.
