Meh, I'll stick with Netflix and Prime for now. I don't want to support Disney's power grab.

"Will be" is pure conjecture. We have no idea what they'll let you stream yet. Hell, it might be certain things are included, "premium" is extra.
I'm seriously thinking about cancelling Netflix and Spotify since I already have Amazon Prime. Doesn't really make sense to have all three anymore (though I haven't really explored Amazon Music's offering and what comes with prime and what doesn't).

I guess I'll ultimately end up with Prime and Disney+

This is I'm sure was the aim all along. DTVNow is going up, Nextflix, Hulu, ... eventually it will be more expensive to had all the streaming services you'd like. Bastards.

With the Fox deal finished Disney now owns 30% of Hulu.
I want to know how that's going to play out with Disney+.
Will they sell their Hulu stake, put fox stuff on Hulu and Disney on D+, or what?
I need to know.

The future will be in house studios like Amazon.

If Netflix does this (which IIRC they just bought a studio) then they have a future. But what they are doing now (buying random ****s rights and packaging it as theirs) is not sustainable.

I think Disney owns more like 60% of Hulu. I doubt they sell it. Bet they try to get more of it.

No streaming service has as much content as them.

No, it isn't. The shows are already confirmed.

This, is conjecture, and a stupid assumption.

I doubt they'll spring for the bandwidth and resources having their entire library always available requires. If their subscription count disappoints I could see new stuff not being added as fast or dropping old stuff off. to maximize profits.

Datacenter costs have gone up a fair bit recently. are they doing all of this in the house that J.T. and Britney built? If they have the money to do all of this the right way, in house, maybe.

Hopefully I'm wrong?

Even if I am, the next downturn when troves drop off will be a good first judge of how good the service is. (to me)

I'm confident the user agreement will allow them to do whatever the hell they want/ deem ideal.

Their entire library would likely be small compared to everything on Netflix. If anyone has the resources to pull it off, it's the House of Mouse.

I don't watch "silly fun" shows. The last Sitcom I watched religiously was Seinfeld, and there have only been a handful of "silly fun" shows I've watched since. So no thanks.

Orville is probably the only somewhat comedic thing I watch currently, but it has had some VERY good dramatic episodes with sprinkles of humor which is more my taste.

As much as I agree with that, in terms of streaming services I realized how much I spent on DVDs/BluRay plus games per year, and I'm spending way WAY less on streaming and getting far FAR more content for my money.

Just give me all the old school cartoons like The Reluctant Dragon or Silly Symphonies, plus The Song of the South.

So you think Amazon Prime is good even though it has one good show (Hannah) which only came out a couple weeks ago, and you hate Santa Clarita Diet because you think it's some type of network tv sitcom? Your opinions on shows is completely ****ed.

Even I'm considering Amazon Prime for (almostish) one show.

I'm pretty sure I can use someone else's though.

Hannah isn't very good. Mrs. Maisel is probably the best all around show right now thats not Scifi/Fantasy. Funniest show right now by far but its not "silly".

Grand Tour is on Amazon too dont forget. The Expanse is the big show for me now and its on Amazon now. I also enjoy Bosch, Sneaky Pete, Man in the High Castle and a few of the original movies. There are less than Netflix, but like I said, I can get caught up with the free trial I get once a year.

I use Amazon to watch repeats, like all of Star Trek and Stargate. Currently rewatching Babylon 5 and Farscape. That kind of stuff.

On Netflix, most of what I watched was Marvel stuff which is gone so I'll probably be trying Disney+. Also still have Cable, so no need for Hulu or other services for live programing.
