I'm not sure it's worth a dime until I see what's available.
I look forward to running a trial or two then, possibly saying fu to Mickey. |

I'll believe it when I see it, live.
And then depending on how toxic/normal the agreement is. |

That price is right, I will probably try it. Netflix is garbage and overpriced now, most other subs have far too few worthwhile programs to waste more than a single month on.

That price will go up once the customer base is set. Guaranteed.
I’ll try it out for the free trial, assuming there is one. Still not giving up on Netflix. For now. Maybe Netflix will lower back their prices. Maybe their increase was on purpose so they could roll it back later. *tin foil hat off* |

That's an adorable thought
There's no way that price stays at $6.99 but one advantage Disney has, to keep their package prices cheap, is that they are playing with house money. If this ends up being solely Disney IPs that they stream, they will be hundreds of millions dollars ahead of Netflix and Amazon by not having to purchase the rights for their content. |

Oh an no talk about quality.
My guess 6.99 starting price. 9.99 for UHD. Im thinking this will go up to Netflix price levels eventually. |

$6.99 seems a lot for a bunch of old movies and Planet Earth.

I wonder if this will permanently open the Disney Vault or will I still only get to watch Bambi for one week every 12 years?
Also, am I really out of the Star Wars loop or is everyone just ignoring The Mandalorian in that banner? EDIT: Also, I only read the first few paragraphs of the article, so I may have missed something. |

The more that these companies make available digitally, the more opportunities I have to pirate them.

Seems like a good price for whoever's account I use. Have hulu/netflix/amazon and don't pay dime for any of them.

Any parent with kids will grab this in a second.
Disney has always kept tight grips on their movies. You want a 70 year old movie? That will still be $20-$25. And kids still watch them. A lot. Feel like showing your kids Beauty and the Beast? You cannot find it (legally) streaming. So you buy it, or you get this streaming service. |

If Netflix can no longer or will no longer have any Disney content, then the price for the service should go down to the level as if they never existed and had to pay the for disney rights/licensing.
Much like cable that has to pay disney, and carry all those channels, and pay their fees. If they didn't have any disney group channels (including ESPN etc...), cable would be MUCH cheaper. Netflix can still stay relevant, reduce costs, if they're not making/producing Disney licensed content anymore. --kC |

I started reading the comments on Ars about this, and they reminded me of the old shows that could make a comeback with this service.
Aladdin, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Gargoyles, the original Duck Tales Then I got a boner and had to leave that website. Im sure I will be excited for nothing. Like, ermergerd, Aladdin!! Watch first few episodes and then forget about it. |

Now that Disney owns 20th Century Fox and all it's content they will have a buttload of stuff on there that they don't have to pay licensing for.
I currently have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon but I don't really use Hulu that much. I have it bundled with Spotify though so it relly doesn't cost me much. I'll see once we get closer to November if I'll get Disney+. My kids are older so they don't watch many Disney cartoons anymore but some of the original shows might be worth it. |
