I'll jump in the boat with you Raffles.
It would be nice if devs made players pay attention to their game instead of just making everything important show up in a hud that ends up lowering immersion, challenge and more. Cluttering a lot of pixels too. It makes no sense to me how a hud is more immersive than the game telling the same info in another way. Say, looking at your mag to check where the bottom is and, estimating how many rounds are left based on a more immersive and useful graphical representation. Oh look I have half shiny metal in my mag, probably 12 rounds left or so. There's being critical and there's being critical. Reflex and I have seen the show. huds are usually lazy (or hamstrung) developing. There are many examples of games with less hud to show this.

I'm not even really advocating the complete dismissal of the HUD, just a more creative design. Just something less generic than persistent health/status bars and text. Hell, even something as simple as a contextual and dynamic HUD that is only visible during combat or "investigation" is a dramatic improvement to any HUD reliant game.
There's a reason you can toggle the task bar to auto hide on your desktop. Just sayin'. |

An I don't want to say any hud element ruins a game for me. It just doesn't There is a scale or curve to it though.
It just gets easy to tell when creativity is lacking. |

You could always just not get the implant that gives you the HUD.

The irony being this game is being hyped up as the most innovative ground breaking masterpiece to ever be created, which makes your complaint about them just recycling the same boring generic HUD elements to guide your gameplay even more valid. Let alone that they've had how many years to develop and interesting/challenging combat system, and that's what they come up with? Oof. The RPG elements better be out of this world since the combat looks worse than Fallout 4. |

Without playing it, I can't tell how deep and engaging it is but it looks quick and smooth unlike the hot garbage that is all of Bethesda's RPG combat.
I'm all for valid criticism, even though I disagree with raflacks since I like the HUD but that looks leagues better than fallout. |

It's brilliant. It allows for a clutter free screen unless the clutter is needed. Again, I'm hoping CDPR has played any recent game that features a smart HUD, sees the benefit, and applies it to this game before it's released. |

I did notice that the character they made, looked a hell of a lot like the cop from Altered Carbon. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or if it was a nod or acknowledgement of that series.

Speaking of platforms other than consoles, the specs of the machine running that demo are lower than I suspected, but significantly higher than any current gen console.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/08/...-demo-pc-specs Pretty impressive considering it's early state. |

I'm gonna get it, but whoa it seems a overwhelming. I suppose most huge games are at first.

I thought it look really good.
I will definitely get it. The one concern I have is that the character you play, will they be too dark? I'm not familiar with the source material, do I need to be? -J |

The source material is a dungeons and dragons type of tabletop game. No need to be familiar with it.

It's cyberpunk. It's going to be dark. A quote I like about the genre is "you can't save the world, but you can save yourself."
