Buddy and I went to the range last night. His first time at a range, has always shot outdoors on his property. There was a group of 4 next to us, not sure which country they were from, but it was a tad bit nervous being next to them as they didn't know a single thing about guns. RO was great, and kept an eye on them, but I was waiting for something to go wrong.

gotta lube my AR9, it was dry and jammed twice. Gonna do that this weekend and take the wife on Sunday. Buddy ended up liking the G17, so we'll head back soon so he can get one.

Looking for a EZ for her, as she has a hard time w/ the slide on the g17. My next purchase will be a g19, I think. I'm going to give up the Shield in favor of it as a carry gun.

Toby, that just over $200 price point for the .308 action is about the best I’ve ever seen. Don’t think it can stay that way forever, just look at Tikka CTRs.

I'm keeping that in mind. I'm gonna talk to my buddy to see if he's ever received anything from Brownells.

I have ordered a ton. Use ActiveJunky and promo codes all the time. Even returned a $2.5K scope after shooting with it for a while because I didn’t like it as much as I should have; awesome return policy.

Cool. I really like shooting G17s. My favorite is easily the Gen 5, but they are all good to me. I currently have Gen 1-3 and 5. Had a Gen 4 but sold it last summer or so; not against getting another to replace it.

I have read good things about the Shield EZ for the people who can benefit from it. I have read about some guns in 9 that have an easier to manipulate slide, but I'm drawing blanks on any of them at the moment. I'm personally ok with .380 but I know not everybody is.

Do you know what G19 you plan on getting? That's probably my favorite Glock and the one I have the most of, although I carry a G26 most often, mostly due to the seats in my car causing longer grips to dig into my back uncomfortably. Unfortunately, the Gen 5 is a no-go for me due to the cutout at the bottom of the front strap. I put some grip tape across the cutout on my Gen 2 to see if that helps, but I haven't made it to the range with it yet.

So a good friend of mine texts me a couple pictures this weekend. One picture of his new build - 10mm 1911 long slide. All stainless. He did a really nice job on it. I've seen that one in person but the slide was binding on it's first trip to the range, so I didn't get to shoot it.

The next picture is of his new to him Ed Brown 1911 on a Colt frame. 30 foot target was a 10 round ragged hole. Very impressive.

And finally his last picture. Of a gun he just won off of Gunbroker - Wildey Survivor with a 7 inch and 10 inch barrel chambered in 45 win mag.

I'm really looking forward to shooting that Wildey.

I shot our local PRS 22 Match yesterday. I ended up having too much caffeine before we started so I was super jittery the whole time. It really messed me up. Here's a quick edit of all but one of the stages, you can actually see me shaking.

Damn embedded YT videos...

I got to shoot the Ruger PC 9mm. So much fun. Stupid easy to shoot. I think I need one so I can put a red dot scope on it.

I'm looking at a Gen 4 for the 19. Either that, or I venture over to Sig for another CC.

My wife has switched jobs, so our schedules are more like a normal couple now - so I can accomplish more things during the week vs having to pile them up on the weekends. So, catching up on some home projects, then we'll look at a new gun. Been down to 1 income for a few weeks, and she's back to work now.

I looked at the Gen5, but I didn't prefer it. I have a larger hand, and the Gen4 felt the best to me.

No expert here, but I wouldn't buy one. I was really interested in one, but after reading about all the issues it was having I said no. Have a G26 currently, but I may switch to a G43. Not quite the capacity of a P365, but close enough. I loved my P228, but my P250SC in .40 ruined me for life against Sig. Worst POS gun I have ever owned. I've owned Glocks since 1994 and really like them.

I wouldn't buy anything new from SIG. The quality just isn't there anymore. Especially for a carry gun.

My carry is a P250 i love it, i dont own any striker fired sigs that seems to be an issue with them. For a carry piece thats easily concealable youll end up with a G42 or 43

Finally got to lubing the AR9 last night, along w/ taking apart the G17 and Shield. First time taking them apart. Hoping to swing by the range tonight and see if the AR9 fires correctly now.

Need to put my AR15 back together this weekend, but working w/ the AR9 and taking apart the pistols made me want to build a gun. Once the wife is back to working normal hours, I'm gonna start to build up a parts list.

shot my roommates p320 again two nights ago. It really is so very nice. I am 100% picking one up in the near future. I put probably 100 rounds through it with zero issues and he has over 500 with zero issues as well.

Local range added a skeet/trap range earlier this summer, so I went on Friday and shot my first ever round of trap.

Lots of fun. I'll definitely be going back to do it again. I don't own a shotgun, so I rented one from them. It was $9 for a round, $10 to rent a CZ over under, and $8 for the ammo.

I hit 1, 3, 4, 5, 1 so I'm definitely not very good

Anyone here use a reflex sight on their pistol? I'm looking down the road for something to conceal and having used a red dot scope on a rifle I'm in love the idea of the same rapid sight picture acquisition on a handgun.

I've tried it 3 times. I had a really hard time picking up the dot, and the 'RMR' type make the dot look like a smear with my astigmatism.

They are more accurate at extended ranges though.

i thought i would love it until i shot a buddies glock 19 with one. it was unnatural and acquisition was far slower than irons for me. i love them on stuff with a stock because you have a cheek and shoulder to get it centered, but its much harder with a pistol in mid air.
