Huh? The first thing in do in any car is drop the seat all the way down and I'm only 6' with normal proportions.

Buy whatever but make sure to swap in a vr6 engine.

No manual and only the 2.4L 4 banger... but I like the idea in theory. Gah: 37.6" front headroom.

Maybe a 1st gen RDX? They ran until 2012. 38.7" headroom would work and I do recall that being adequate on my test drive some years back. They also were overly sporty for their market segment if anything, which sounds in line with my thread's aims.

This is solid advice.

The first gen RDX was too sporty and hence didn't sell well. Tone it down and if flies off the lot LOL.

If you're into Acura, then maybe second gen MDX? It's powerful enough and handles well for a Japanese suv but is portly and the mpgs suck. We like ours.

Have no idea about the headroom though as I'm a midget and fit into everything.

Lol. My wife has the long torso too. Her main gripe is finding shirts that are long enough.

Ford Flex has 40+ inches of front headroom. Ecoboost is fast too.

I like to peer over peoples' heads on the airplane, too.

Good suggestions. Both seem like long, big beasts. At least they'd be more road focused, I suppose.

Anyway, thanks to all for the non-serious and serious suggestions alike. Thinking about cars is an amusing way to waste time.

As it turns out I may be moving to Seattle in around a year, and if I do we may end up having a third kid. That'd mess with everything, plus I don't know if I could bike commute there depending on where I'd actually be working each day. Until I know specifics for that and whether both components are happening I'll be sitting tight with my current lineup of vehicles.

I have a TSX Wagon. I like it a lot, but it's far from perfect. The rear seat room is abysmal. It will not do well with 2 rear facing car seats. It is a huge pain in the ass just to buckle the seat belt over my daughter's booster seat. It seems like less rear seat room than there was in my '05 LGT, however I never actually compared dimensions.

Face it, you are on a Subaru forum. You have described an Outback. Buy a used Outback XT and be done with it.

AutoTrader has 8 Outback XTs listed in the country with a manual.

I say E39 M5.

Yep, sad fact the the back of a TSX is tiny. Too bad. However, an XT would be similar in rear seat space so that doesn't buy you much. I had an LGT too and the back wasn't a great place to be; only slightly better than our GD.

Now the current Outback is like a freaking limo. I think the wife and I have concluded the next vehicle we get will have a 3rd row but the current OB is really comfy!

True about the Outback XT. It will be pretty much the same rear seat room as my LGT. Look for a used Outback 3.6R. However, I don't think it was available in a manual.
